No, you don't need to add liquidity. Adding liquidity is if you want to make a marginal profit from your medium to long term holdings. If you add it as liquidity you gain a portion of the fees that are incurred from trading that currency pair.

If there's anything i've learned about crypto in the last while its that you really have to risk your capital if you want to go get quick gains (quick being hours to weeks). You dump $500 or whatever in BRR and if it does a 2x or 3x you take your profit and do it again in a different one.

The SMART play is to take your $500 and drop it in a stable coin or project and let it grow over time. You'll never lose that way.
