Japan had it coming if they thought they could take on America

this shitty show is the purest, greatest form of taking a dump on a good concept

imagine having such a small dick that you can't even allow japan's paltry excuse for an army to face any physical conflict that they don't immediately solve

>a japanese show has a pro japan bias
wow no way...

>globalized world
>what you do effects literally everybody else (see overpopulation and climate change)
>still needing nations

Silly.

They are fighting smelly cavemen, what do you expect a modern army to struggle against those savages, even the philippines or cyprus military can steamroll those primitives

here's the thing, the issue was not "pro-japan bias", the issue was that we were sold "modern army versus fantasy army" and what we got was "modern army versus medieval army"

all the fantasy creatures that could actually make a difference like the war god loli end up joining the heroes anyway. There's no mass unit of wizards who can summon meteors on top of the japanese army, they're just basically knights and roman soldiers who of course get dusted by a modern armed force with machine guns. That's not interesting.

>They are fighting smelly cavemen
this is the issue, modern army versus medieval army is not interesting. It was supposed to be modern army versus fantasy army but they didn't have any equalisers. no conflict.

It isn't. Americunts just got butthertz because of ONE scene where blacked murikan spec ops got their ass kicked by a fantasy goth lolita. Then scream RIGHTWING YAKUZA!!!! at everything.

OF COURSE!

>It was supposed to be modern army versus fantasy army but they didn't have any equalisers. no conflict.
Wow. It's like you expected realism in low-fantasy isekai.

>Wow. It's like you expected realism in low-fantasy isekai.

It's like I expected a story with actual stakes.

Idk man, seems closer to realism than a slightly magically boosted version of a roman/medieval hybrid having any real equalizers. Yeah the magic was cool and all but for what it's worth is it any better than a machine-gun?

>nationalism is only okay when amer*ca does it
Fuck off, burgershoots

Japan is full of retards, why didn't they attack russia instead of china and usa?

>issue, modern army versus medieval army is not interesting
no, it's not the issue

You don't even know what that means, do you? I've heard that argument parroted countless times, but do you even know what you're talking about when you say meme words like "stakes" or "tension", sounds like a beginner taking a creative writing class

I'd like story to be actually entertaining. Which is more entertaining, modern army just steamrolling everything in a fantasy land, or them facing actual hardship, having to deal with magic and fantasy beasts?
There was that whole arc about them going and fighting the dragons, but it all ended with rest of JSDF coming along and missiling the fuckers. Shit like that completely undermines the earlier struggle of the characters.

because of siberia, and they already invaded china

Made doubly retarded by the fact that there were stakes, just not in a direct military to military sense. Duh, battle rifles win against dudes with swords. Gee, an AA gun is able to neutralize a wyvern, how crazy. Almost like they were built for a purpose near that. The direct military conflicts provided little more than a kino background for the plot.

this show is warfare porn for american weebs

Modern military will completely steamroll any magic bullshit and fantasy beasts though. Your shitty spells won't protect you from ballistic missiles

>Literally destroy Japan and Tokugawa goverment pride
Nothing personal kid

> Sacrificing yourself for opportunistic con men
> When your own back yard is on fire

The latter sounds equally if not more unentertaining, it will just be filled with magical asspullery just to maintain that oh so delivious struggle artificially, sounds like an obnoxiously tedious napfest to me, faggot. But listen, all that shit's got nothing to do with the entertainment value of a story, it's all up to how the story is told, you stiff idiot

Sorry, enemy summoned a wraith. It's immaterial can only be damaged by magic. It just killed the entire army while raising new ghosts for every kill. GG no RE.

>Your shitty spells won't protect you from ballistic missiles
If we're going by DnD rules, even a Wizard would take care of an entire army with no problem. That's not even going with the meme lich. Honestly, it's one of the gripes I had with GATE, it's not really dealing with a magical world but just medieval soldiers. The only time modern vs. fantasy really came along was with Rory vs. the non Japanese squads and she steamrolled them.

Oh, it's that butthurt fantasy strong fag again.

Once again, a numbers game. A small group could reasonably be taken down by a powerful wizard. Assaulting a well defended hill would still be damn near suicide though.

We're going by competent writing rules here, not DnD "nu-uh" rules

Your wizard won't be able to do shit when he gets sniped by a missile from several hundred kilometers away, sweetie.

The only other anime I ever saw that was this bad in terms of Nipwankery, was Drifters.
It's too bad because D&D type world of magic meets the modern world is a neat concept.

Again, it's fantasy, logic doesn't exist. If a Wizard has say, an invulnerable force field, then nothing could be done against him. Then you'd have something turn incorporeal, then what good are guns and explosives. Then there's also the classic "Muh phylactery lich in a sekrit dimension".

nuh uh, my wizard has anti-sniping magical barriers, modern boy

>starts to prepare a spell
>Helicopter main gun starts firing, vaporizing the wizard instantly
not much of a contest

>kidnap a mage
>force him to imbue your ammo with magic
>kill wraith
>keep your mage slave for handy shit like this
Wow sure was hard

Again, we're going by competent writing rules

Outbreak Company: We did send in an army to claim the land, turns out mind control spells exist there. Also how do you shoot a ghost? New plan: Cultural victory.

Does he also have an anti nuke magical barrier? Checkmate magicfag

Which exists in neither.

can your magic go brrrrrrrrrrrrt?

Even regular DnD Wizards could be defeated by guns. There's no fucking "invulnerable force field" magic because it makes no sense from gameplay nor narrative perspective. Take your retarded wank back to DBS generals.

Gate is also more about the politics, not jacking off to powerlevels.

Lets see how your wraith enjoys being fucking carpet bombed
Sure, if the wizard is that strong. But how long can they keep the spell up? Can they protect a full field army with it? Will enough force eventually overwhelm the shield?

>All these faggots arguing about modern vs. magic
>Not being a magitekchad
Weaklings, all of you.

Name 3(THREE) fantasy worlds in which modern military would get fucked by magic
Protip: you can't
