Detective Conan

Do you miss the original, more cartoony artstyle of the anime?

Yeah it was good. Really liked the style from like around the 200 episodes.

Yes but I also miss the more polished serious looking style from late cel. Really you can't go wrong with either look/tone, the early cartoony one was more fun and lighthearted, which made the "kids in a murder mystery" thing more prominent. The later one just looks so great and had a really good, more serious atmosphere, often times looking like Gosho himself drew the art. It had the more "heartwarming" look to it as well, like how Ran's/the girls'/really anyone's expressions felt more powerful.

There's only charm in the modern digital style on the rare occasion you get lucky and they draw him competently.

I also want to point out that, although not a permanent shift, the cel style did have its moments of devolved looking episodes. So both Cel and Digital had a transition from good and bad, although the digital one is far more notable having lasted longer and in higher frequency. Digital also worked sort of reversed. Cel looked good and got better, only starting to occasionally look rough in the final stretch, likely in part of specific animation directors rather than character models shifting. Digital looked good and then got worse. Maybe it'll look a lot better towards the end?

I have something to confess. I hate Ran but I love Rachel.

How does that work? Like the name of the character?

I love the old style and the show will probably never switch back to that. They also used to be able to draw noses, in digital everything is pointy.

Which 1-6 movies had a saturation color problem in the remasters? I remember there was Baker Street.

The voice or the acting just changes how I see her. Ran gets on my nerves but Rachel doesn't. They give me two completely different feelings.

Okay I get it. Ran's character just gets on my nerve these days in general, but I liked her back then.

Have you heard this audio of Rachel seducing Conan?

Yea I had the DVD with this on it a long time ago. Pretty based.

>Ran's character just gets on my nerve these days in general
Probably because of how long her cute but screaming dumb shtick has gone on.

I still remember loving stuff like the Ski Lodge Murder Case.

I wonder if I was the first to get the Zero bluray.

Does the bluray come with some actual good content or something?

Unless I went to the wrong site a couple days ago, I think the TMS website that had all the english movie logos no longer has them. So here's the first 20. There's a good chance that "Jolly Roger in the Deep Azure" will be called "Joly Roger's in the Azure" if given a Bluray here, unless they're going to redo it which I find unlikely.

It's just the movie plus the teaser, trailer, and TV spots. I just haven't seen anyone say they've got theirs yet. I also wonder if anyone is going to be upset how they translated Amuro's gay scene considering any other american Conan fan I've seen is some gay twitter fujo shipper.

>Amuro's gay scene
You're going to be more specific.

>BD comes out today
>already out of stock
Are you kidding me?

Right before the climax where Conan says he's been meaning to ask Amuro for awhile if he has a girlfriend, the word Amuro uses is fansubbed as "lover" but in the dub he keeps with the straight-based question.
>I've been wanting to ask you this for a long time... but do you have a girlfriend, Amuro-san?
>My... lover is... this country itself!
Became
>I hope you don't mind if I ask this but, do you have a girlfriend Mr Amuro?
>Actually, I do, it's this country!

Okay I thought it was that scene as well, but Amuro had too many gay scenes in that movie so just had to make sure.

It was probably out of stock before the release date and it only says that now that it's officially switched from pre-order not in stock. I checked earlier today and it was already out of stock, I never saw stocked. It kept being put as a top seller and this is probably its third time. I think Episode One only had the label two times and it went out of stock a day or two after its official release date.

>Jolly Roger is in the Azure
Holy shit that's awful. That's not even the alternative Japanese title that was something like The Azure Coffin.

Is there a list of what all the movies' second names are, translated? All I know is the Sunflowers of Inferno is also called Hellfire Sunflowers because it's the only movie title with something like hell in it and a lot of people actually use that name.

I never understood the appeal to conan & I was maybe 12 or younger when the show came to the U.S.

I never even saw if Conan turns into a grown teenager or if he just stays a child the whole time

The appeal is both if you like the characters and also the weekly murder mystery which thousands of people love, according to the huge variety there is in that genre especially in past live action shows. Conan eventually meets the woman who made the poison he took and she's also been shrunk by it (after attempting suicide by it), after some time she comes up with a temporary antidote that she only lets him use on important occasions, as it works for a shorter amount of time every use. He's returned to his adult body a few times.

I just hope that he ends up with his gf/crush.
It always seemed unrealistc for her to keep her attention on him (adult form) when hes gone all the time.

I can watch it, but this was just a big issue for me in the plot even though its just an anime, but so much anime focuses on real communication just like this specific.

>I just hope that he ends up with his gf/crush.
They're currently going out right now.

>I just hope that he ends up with his gf/crush.
Like the other user said they're officially dating these days, but also I'm pretty sure the creator already said it ends with them getting married, or did one of those vague responses that heavily implied as much, not that there's any doubt. There's a recurring amount of drama that comes from him not being around, she feels lonely and abandoned in some cases. Whenever he does get his adult body back he has to "leave" when he loses it again, more than once in the middle of a heartfelt situation. He also has talked to her over the phone using a voice changer many times.

That clears a lot up.

Thanks for the help anons.
Its a long series and life is short.
I may take a look at the series again as some people around me still watch the show too.
