Deca-Dence is AotS

Appare Ranman! was boring until the samurai died but since they didn't have the balls to make that stick it just became a slow boring anime until episode 10 and then a rushed hamfisted action anime for the last couple of episodes leaving the last half of the last episode to finish up the whole point of the show and an uncharacteristically gay resolution between the two main characters in the final minute. It was a 4. Could have been an 8 but when the stakes don't matter might as well have been a shounen jump power of friendship asspull ending. ID: Invaded has stronger meat but a worse ending than Deca-dence. I find them comparable in quality as much as you can with vastly different plots and settings.

Appare-Ranman! was great from the beginning, although I can understand if someone doesn't like the lack of actual racing.

They only made it halfway across the country by episode 12 only to finish the race in the last half of episode 13.

Early twist was cool in a meta sense but I unironically enjoyed episode 1 the most because post apoc + good art. Robot stuff was somewhat interesting but I'd rather have had something nice to look at like the "real" world stuff.
