Disappointing final villains thread:

Why are final villains almost always the most disappointing thing about their franchise?

Speaking of which: Which franchises did the final villain right?

>Why are final villains almost always the most disappointing thing about their franchise?
Depends on what you expect from them. Muzan wasn't disappointing imo, but his fight was (too stretched)

Kill la Kill

>Muzan wasn't disappointing imo
Yes he was. He was overhyped as hell. For what in the end?
Every chapter was him wasting chapters with standing and flailing around. Gets BTOF once. Then turns into a literal giant baby in the end. Got BTFO, yet again. Possessed MC and chapter tried to set him up with his sad backstory... Gets BTFO instantly due to the power of nakama right in the next chapter before he did a jack shit worthwhile after he possessed mc.
He was easily the lamest villain of KnY.
His fight being dragged just made him even worse, but he is already shit even if you were to summarize his fight and character in short (which I just did).

>which I just did
You summarized only the fight, user.

He came off like he could've been a good Naraku Clone but he ended jobbing worse than him with an even more boring final fight. Demon tanjiro was more threatening and I would've been fine if it ended with him just fucking off but it ended up being so lame. A lame retard that just stands still and whips his arms around for an hour is boring when we just witnessed demons with reality warping, Freezing ice lotus, demonic lightning, super demon martial arts, and sword moon autism. Such a let down and a retarded manchild that was boring.

>Wrong
Kira (JoJo)
Yashiro (Erased)
Melon (Beastars)

>Right
Char (Gundam)
Makishima (Psycho-Pass)

Who are the top right & bottom left?

FMA
JoJo p. 3
any doujin that ends with the villainess winning

I'll lend you a hand, Rize from TG.

Because there is nothing to talk about regarding him outside of that.
He was just mysterious bad guy who one-shots everyone prior to that. What little characterization he had (him being family man), wasn't even real. When he finally got "development" (few panels after he possessed mc), it wasn't anything that redeemed his character or even made it interesting. He was still lame. Fact that he got nakama'd right in the next chapter (which made whole possession hype-up pointless), made him even lamer. He got BTFO like the biggest loser in the entire manga.
Usually you have cases in which a character works better as antagonist than main big bad (Example: Furuta from TG or Kira from JoJo). Or villains that were wasted potentials (Example: Douma, Demon Tanjiro). With Muzan? Nope. He was just shit. Both as final villain, antagonist and a character in general. He was not intimidating. He had zero charisma. His personality was being mustache twirler, and not even the entertaining type. He turned into a literal giant infant! Enough said! He is worthless outside of memes about him.

>Demon tanjiro was more threatening and I would've been fine if it ended with him just fucking off but it ended up being so lame.
Exactly! The only good thing about Muzan (if it can even be called that) is shitposting on Zig Forums that he produced.

Top right is Rize from TG. The reason why I put her over Furuta is because well..she was the final one. Although Furuta was more of a main antagonist since he was pulling strings, but he was just as shit.
Bottom left was Utsuro from Gintama. He was just pointless as a villain since Gintama didn't need the most OP character init, and it especially didn't need Gintoki's sensei resurrected. He had no build up at all. He was just random for the sake of having the most OP bad guy.

Muzan is a good final villain, but the way they handled the final fight was a disaster. No one anticipated and ending that fast and left a lot of plot points unresolved and overall was just underwhelming, what could have been potential. Honestly most franchises don't do final villains right because they always have tropes surrounding them. If I had to say whose done a final villains were done right, I'd probably have to say some shit like Monster or Dorohedoro.

Rize and Utsuro (Shouyou). Utsuro was unnecessary thing. While he did serve to develop characters like Takasugi, Utsuro himself was uninteresting. Painfully so! Usually even the worst villains in Gintama had some form of charm to them. Or something as a redeeming quality. Utsuro was just lame and he made arc itself lame just by existing.
Rize on another hand was a joke. Let me give you a short summary:
>her entire character is that she is a binge eater
>she tries to eat protagonist
>her retarded brother drops steel beams on her
>she is presumed to be dead until chapter 89 in which she is found in a tank being out of her mind
>protagonist decides to take pit on her and save her
>he leaves her to his friend to take care of her since her sanity was fucked
>you'd think that his a good opportunity to expand on her character--- right?
>FUCK TO THE NO!
>she ended up in thank yet again
>how? when? just fucking how? kek doesn't matter apparently
>the only time she is brought up in manga is when her retarded brother is fapping to her
>he ends up making her into Kaguya rip off
>she only ever talks to protagonist as a fucking tulpa
>appears in the end as a "final boss"
>next chapter is ending that with everyone fine and dandy except for Takizawa whose existence is suffering
>aka she got fucking off-screened

Rize was more of a finish line

As I said in my another post: Furuta was more of a main antagonist since he was pulling strings (he was also garbage, so my statement about TG stands even if I were to put him instead of Rize). I mainly put Rize over him since everything ended up leading to her in the end. Even Furuta's own character was all about Rize.

>Kaido and Big Meme are in the middle of getting the Acnologia treatment since they've been jacked off for years as the biggest endgame threats in the setting but keep jobbing to meme characters (see: Robin, Raizo, Kiku) and never do any damage on panel
At what point in One Piece's lifespan did Oda take the Mashimapill?

Fuck, I wish Ishida went for the trippy end, although I understand why he didn't, since he wanted :re to be the end of it.

Jojo in general tends to do a fine job with its villains dice they are usually hyped up from the start and the last fights are really a struggle.

Arima is hard to top as far as Antagonists go in that series. Furuta was way to memey and Rize was a living plot point.

>Kaido beats Luffy in a single blow
>half of supernovas are his bitches
>he has been made bleed only by a guy that is dead and by nine guys surprise attack
>still hasn't shown his full power
>jobbing

>"What will you do now? Will you die again?"
Fucking hell, he was hardcore when he had to. He took a giant shit on Kaneki's life and when the guy couldn't even finish the job, he did himself.

>kaido sends luffy to a training camp with fodder guards and strong teachers after g4 doesn't do anything at all to him
>oda builds up kaido's skin as being literally invincible, so much in fact that only Oda's OC was ever able to pierce it
>this was treated as a miracle
>nine red jobbers rush kaido and all manage to cut him with their special nip haki
>even pathetic weaklings like kiku, raizo and izou
>few chapters later, kinemon cuts a fire attack with a gimmick technique that also manages to cut kaido's face, when he isn't even trying
If Kinemon was so fucking strong he should have beaten the shit out of Doflamingo with all four limbs tied behind his back

>be samurai
>job hard to king, queen and the fucking numbers
>travel through time
>suddenly you're strong enough to fuck up kaido
this is unironic fairy tail style nakamafaggotry

Imagine being so based that you mindrape the mc so bad that he loves you and doesn't want to kill you. Even after his death his still hyped and wanked. Him showing up in a panel was literally like death itself popped up cause he was not gonna lose in a fight. He cut down Kaneki so many times in their final fight even AFTER Kaneki had two midfight powerups. He was still going easy on him.

The issue with late :re (past Arima's death) is that plot became absolutely random.
>oh no Akira has been poisoned let us now have an entire arc about finding a cure for her
>Akira has been cured let us now have multiple chapters about Akira talking to different characters
>hmm what do we do now? I know! let us give Mutsuki Kaneki autism and make her into yandere for Kaneki
>also give Aurima Kaneki autism by having his aunt hospitalized and have him assume that it was Kaneki and have his aunt not say anything about it because we have to have two villains that have Kaneki autism
>let us now hook up Touka and Kaneki so we can have an entire fucking arc about Touka being pregnant and running away from everyone who is trying to give her free abortus (like Mutsuki)
>Japs are hating the manga on Amazon because Mutsuki and Touka shit is boring to them too! I KNOW! let us now make Kaneki into a villain and have Mutsuki make up with Toulka in one chapter because Saiko told her to stop being a sperge
>also give the hottest girl to Aurima
>in fact give Mutsuki too to Aurima
>Aurima deserves a harem
>where were we? Ah yes. Kaneki is now the bad one. Umm just have chapter of every character dick sucking Kaneki and pregnant Touka saving him from HIMSELF. That will do.
>oh right! we forgot about Furuta. Just have him talk about Rize and do few memes before Kaneki fucks him up in just mere few panels
>shit! there are clowns and V too... just have them job and off-screen V including Kaiko who fucking cares
>off-screen Eto again while at it
>how do we do final confrontation with Rize and Kaneki? well let us just not do it all. Make the next chapter the end and give everyone happy endings except for Takizawa. the end

Arima was strong, but do you know who was the strongest? Him.

Way too based for the story he was in.

Attached: my bad.png (809x808, 369.58K)

To be fair, he did off himself before manga became an absolute trash. It is like he knew.

He did it himself because he saw his good friend Eto and his entire family got off-screen treatment, while others like Tatara got used as jobber-fooder to hype up other characters.
You can't job if you kill yourself first.

desu Usturo was unnecessary, but this panel alone made it worth it

Attached: nrdo7rn3zyj21.jpg (720x364, 45.43K)

He was good at spotting patterns even from the most mundane of things. He saw the signs way ahead of anyone else. He probably even deduced that Ishida would grow tired of the story and decided to ask for an early retirement.
