Idk about FMA but I appreciate that someone is sticking up for the deepness of Gurren Lagann.
I'm honestly dumbfounded when people say it's just a fun "turn your brain off" show.
It has a great exploration of probably the biggest question of our age (progress at any cost vs the safe status quo) as well as a dozen other things, all woven into the very entertaining story expertly rather than just monologued at you like other "deep" shows.
