There was some cut content and feelsy moments lost in the anime adaption so I'll fill you guys in on what happened in the WN that is missing from the anime. These aren't spoilers, but content that would help fill the gaps from how rushed the anime is.

Does this bitch ever stop crying? I feel like he cries every other episode. We're 38 episodes in and he's still crying over his situation. I really like the show but I'm starting to hate Subaru so much I might drop.

The scene between Subaru and Satella was more impactful in the web novel. Satella came off as very timid and a loss of words. Satella would mutter something when Subaru would be throwing a tantrum and everything would fall silent. Subaru would give 100% of his attention to Satella with patience not seen from Subaru for a long time. Satella would drop a one liner and this would crush Subaru's world. Satella's few words were heavy and but punched Subaru in the gut knocking him down onto his knees. Satella was 100% genuine in everything she said. Subaru couldn't come to terms as his brain felt like it was melting. Everytime Satella spoke, Subaru felt himself draw closer to her, like an unseen hand gripping his heart even tighter, Subaru started to feel himself falling in love. Subaru fought his urges his very existence was for Emilia right? But everytime Satella spoke Subaru became entranced. As Satella started to warm up to speaking to someone she had this burning passion for, she started to shed tears. Subaru only able to see these tears rolling down her cheeks from beneath her veil, unending, Subaru's heart wrenched in his chest. Was he wrong all along? Who was she who had captivated him so? Didn't he swear to defeat the witch? Perhaps he was misunderstood this whole time. Subaru felt himself at an open door unable to step through. Echidnas castle of dreams started to crash around him. Subaru lifted up Satella by her hand, following what he fought against all along. Subaru swore to Satella he would save her, and for the feint moment before he returned, the veil from Satella's face slipped. Underneath a poor girl, crushed by a thousand deaths of her one true love, grimacing as the tears blurried her vision and her teeth bit down on her lower lip, Satella would have to see Subaru disappear one more time.
