Kinda mad utaha didn't win but megumi is also a great character and her development was so damn good, idk she's kinda grown on me so it's fine. The movie itself offered a satisfactory ending, emotional well-written...no complaints

I'd say it was very clear from the beginning that Megumi would win, and not just due to the title. She's the one who has the most growth and is developed from a "boring background girl" with a penchant for deadpan quips to one of the most "real" feeling girls I've seen in anime, with a lot of nuance and different sides to her. At least that's how I see it.
So I can't quite understand people who are mad or expected a different outcome. Doesn't mean I blame people for wanting their favorite girl to win, of course.

Maybe in LN, but not in the anime. She didn't seem that much of a character to me. Not that other girls had more complex characters, but still I can't say she was that great.

Depends on what part you watch, perhaps. Her development is mostly in the second season and the movie. She's kind and caring, but also sharply critical to the point of being rude. She's loving but also very jealous. She can be really direct but also passive aggressive as hell and has a hard time being forward about her feelings when it really matters. She denies that she's in love with Tomoya (seemingly even to herself), but essentially starts acting as his wife pretty early on. She also uses being worried about the game to cover up the fact that she's angry at him.
I'd say she has a decent amount of nuance to her compared to the average anime girl. That said, the LN might well do a better job.

Yes, I could see this. But for me it wasn't enough to think of her as of a complex character. She isn't plain of course and her emotions are not over-exaggerated like it often happens in the medium, but still not that much of a "real" feeling girl you mentioned.

It's obviously still relative to her being an anime character and I wouldn't necessarily call her super complex, but I'd say she has a decent amount of nuance to her personality which, at least to me, makes her feel more like an "actual" person than most anime girls. Maybe I'm just being biased.
