Normally I don't like spoon feeding but Kannagi Crazy Shrine Maidens was a damn gem romcom. Hell it wasn't even a hidden gem, it was fairly popular during its time and spawned a lot of doujins and porn. Main girl was basically Aqua from Konosuba before Aqua was a thing. Why you or any newfags don't know about Kannagi is because the author pissed off his fans by implying that main girl was raped and lost her v card in the manga making a bunch of nips were burning copies left and right. Killing its chance for another season, yeah.

Male nudity isn't seen as a big deal in Japan and boys are used to being seen naked by girls. Boys are required to go completely naked in mixed onsens while girls can wear robes and boys sometimes have to be fully naked in front of girls from their school during Hadaka Matsuri.

Eh? Wasn't really that way when I was there. Mixed onsen were pretty rare then and you could wear a towel if you wanted. Also Hadaka Matsuri is held all over and I never saw anyone in less than a fundoshi, nor was anything less required. And this was 20 years ago.

That wasn't the case where I went, and I don't think a handful of a relatively uncommon type of onsen requiring it really makes the case it's a cultural thing to be cool about being naked around the opposite sex for young people in modern Japan. Around the same sex it was fairly casual but I never got the impression any guys were comfortable being naked around girls and it literally never happened outside of a single mixed onsen I went to. Granted I went to only that one mixen onsen and used a public bath like twice just to get the experience (verdict: meh?).
If anything I found the Japanese to be fairly prudish outside of their immediate family (but definitely casual with the immediate family which had a couple awkward results for my stay as an exchange student that no, weren't sexy)- but very polite about it so they don't come off as goofy puritans like Americans.
