This year we are implementing special rules in order to work with the shipping delays and other potential factors. Tiers will be limited to where it will only be a single tier (read next post), BUT you can send a lot of cards! More of the focus is being shifted toward being able to make sure gifts are done, thoughtful and shipped on time, rather than the big bucks you can spend!

We are not accepting new Santas at this time. > How do I join the gift exchange? Correctly fill out the signup form and email it to us as an attachment or link before the deadline. Because we need time to match you all, and give everyone enough time to procrastinate until Thanksgiving and then draw cards, buy gifts, and ship them both in time for Christmas. > Why should I trust this? It's up to you. We’ve had multiple successful SS events hosted by us for the past few years. Although the average amount of people not receiving gifts is low, the risk still exists. Please be aware that your mileage will vary. However, we do provide a grinched protection program which lets people send gifts to those who didn't receive anything at all... even after X-mas! > Can I give you guys stuff? If you want. I think Santa Loli might have a PO box by now, ask her about it. The other Santas will do what they feel like. > I ALREADY JOINED, HOW DO I FIX SOMETHING? If you need to make changes to your wishlist or address, or anything else: please RE-SEND the application with the changes made as a REPLY to your first e-mail! This means send the whole application! Let us know what changes were made > Is the price of shipping included in the price tier? No shipping costs are not included in the tier. > When are the threads going to be? Threads are created only on Fridays/weekends until we get closer to X-mas. The Santas will create them.

It’s widely anticipated that this Winter will see a rise in cases and a corresponding decrease in postal service quality. For USA anons, the mail-in election will also fuck the USPS for most of November and likely December as well. > But how does having less/cheaper gifts help with all that? It means you’ll all be able to focus more and ship them out earlier. It’ll also limit financial exposure in case gifts start getting lost. > Why are we still doing 10 cards then? > Am I going to be responsible for lost/late gifts this year? All gift senders MUST provide a tracking number to us this year. Please send it as a response to your gift assignment. If your post doesn’t provide this service or you cannot afford it, then you must send us a picture of what you’re shipping. If and only if you do this, you will not be responsible for what happens to your gift after you ship it. Your user will be anti-grinched if it does not arrive. > What’s a handmade gift? Take a look around in the threads. You’ll see plenty of examples of knitting, laser cut wood, horrifying waifu masks, and much much more. People bake cookies/brownies, or buy snacks and booze local to their country. You may not get out what you put in, but remember that giving is the most important part. > Do you have any other helpful tips for me? Start everything early. It will take time to receive your gift and to send it out. Get stuff bought as soon as possible and ship it as soon as you can. Pay attention to your local postal service’s guidelines. Be aware that prices may have increased dramatically since you last shipped something. Holiday price surges are incoming. Certain mail services has been suspended indefinitely, so prepare to plan around that too. Don’t send a hand-made gift or food if you’re feeling sick. Don’t go delivering gifts IRL, even if someone lives nearby to you. And please, do not lewd the Rona-chan.

I want to send gifts to three anons and I don't want to receive anything as Christmas is not part of my religion. How do I participate into this? Can I just send some shit to Santa Loli and then you will handle it/randomly forward it to people?

Speaking of end-of-year stuff, when is the "this year on Zig Forums(nel)" collage going to start being worked on?
A card I sent last year was returned to me in June because supposedly the address did not exist, the card was going to the Philippines. If I want to try sending it again this year, what can I do to check with the user if the address is correct?

2015 was my first year doing this. I made an awesome Terraformars / DBZ crossover card and it never got posted. I still kick myself for not taking pictures of it.

I still feel like a Zig Forums style amazon wishlist event would be the most straightforward/drama-free solution but I'm looking forward to assembling cards again. There's a handful of otaku shops in town too so I can even send out some stuff even with the Japan Post fuckery
at least I've made a lot of personal progress the last year and I have something to show for it rather than just musing about how another year has gone by in the blink of an eye
