Chainsaw Man does not read like a shonen, nor does it share the core principles of one such as self discipline, duty, friendship and overcoming adversity.

It is nihilistic, cynical, morbidly humorous and tragic. The author is simply using the Weekly Shonen Jump platform as a means to get his manga out there and nothing else.

>friendship and overcoming adversity
These ones are definitely true for Denji.

So is Barefoot Gen which was published in the same magazine. Which is the biggest magazine in the industry and the perfect place to get your manga out there.

Orwellian
Machiavellian
Lovecraftian

Are you saying it's, dare I say...kinoesque?

Soft seinen?

can you post the kobeni dancing gif please, thanks in advance and god bless

kobeniggers...

Truly a GRRMesque work.

hello I am in search of a new series to read and I don't know if I'd like this one. What is it like? I really like to read Kafka, not sure if that helps.

People on this board have this weird complex about discussing stories with honesty, the moment you hint you like a shonen beyond what is shown, you're automatically a pseud or need to go back. Because shonen are for kids so you need to turn your brain off and just enjoy the visual comedy action. Why is that? Why can't you say okay, this is a shonen and it's not going to be high literature or a philosophical essay but can we discuss X and Y themes?

Thank you and goodbye Pochita ;_;

Poe-like

I think it often comes down to just a lot of people having genuinely shit reading comprehension - cue, so many retarded questions each thread - so they rather turn into being dismissive than to try properly talk about it.

Chainsaw man ended with Aki death. Everything went downhill from then, even art and shading of manga itself, people can tell shit about kafkaesque or kino, but in reality we have one empty chapter after another, one weightless fight after another, and so on, nothing happened since chainsaw man revival and we are at the end of the volume.

Because we've moved long passed irony and became the very retards we used to make fun of. Sincerity is dead, shitposting reigns, and no amount of lurking will fix it.

I heard this one. I heard it after the Bomb arc. I heard if after the Hell arc. I heard after The Gun arc. I'm hearing it now. I will hear it next week. You'llbe here to post it and I'll be there to hear it again.

Pretty sure this is word for word from last thread, pretty much just copy-paste.
Don't bother replying, he is probably baiting.
If not, clearly too stupid to understand the story.
Not worth the time either way.

>can't refute it so you talk gibberish
kek

>I just got spoiled from JJK threads ;_;
Don't worry user, Fuji told me no one actually dies in CSM except Himeno and Snake, so CSM fans won't get spoiled in future when anime comes out ;_;

You hit the nail on the head. Zig Forums is my designated shitposting board

I wished hiatus x hiatus dogs didn't invade these threads.

If that's gibberish to you, you need to learn English some more, my man.

I wish they didn't invade this board.

we're Zig Forums now

For the Viz release of volume 1 which is coming out in a few days, do they rework the translations and typesetting that was done on manga plus or are they the same? The manga plus translations were decent, but I've never bought any of Viz WSJ stuff, but from what I've seen they tend to localise the source material too much, which can be very annoying. Also, do different teams work on translating WSJ and seinen series, and is any censorship still happening on new series, or did they stop doing that entirely?

>even art and shading of manga itself
Fuji is hungry, can't draw good if you are hungry, you just need order a lot of Japanese vol to help him out user, please understand !!!

You're right, but I didn't fell much for Aki's death even though he was the only character I liked. I like that the manga is unpredictable, but that's all it has going for it right now. It's only funny like half the time, the action sucks, the reminder of characters are rather plain.
