Storytime threads are kind of weird and a new fad.
On one hand this is a board for talking about manga but on the other I can easily see them flooding the board at some point.
I like the oneshot dumps though. Those are always fun.

I legitimately don't understand how "story time" threads went from being infrequent and about short, relatively unknown works to get people to discover, discuss such works in a civilized manner to weekly (daily) appointments to reread 50+ volume long mainstream shonen where you just have a bunch of people mass quoting their favorite pages.

Bleach storytime was great. It's a manga whose high points have been forgotten since it had a rough patch near the end. It honestly reignited my love for it and made me go back to being a chuuni 14 years old.

It's because of the Bleach storytime threads. It gained so much traction, that other people started their storytime despite having no reason for that.

But... where is the enjoyment in that? Dump a weird one-shot by this author I would have never heard of otherwise, sure my interest is piqued. Dump 20 volumes of Berserk so we can get oooohs and aaaahs for every page of the Eclipse... why is that enjoyable?
