why are you procastinating, user?
Scanlation Thread
I'm here just to beg for someone pick up isekai oji-san
>PLEASE PICK UP MY GENERIC ECCHI HAREM ISEKAI I HAVEN'T BUSTED A NUT IN 2 HOURS I'M GONNA BLOW
read something new
Anyone know a good place where I can get epubs of Dengeki G's and other magazines from around 2015?
Scanning the bits I need for archival purpose is just such a hassle.
>isekai oji-san
>generic isekai
Nice job outing yourself as retarded.
what happened to kontol? did striptease send an assassin to kill him?
I hope so desu.
More likely he just dropped it because he was an asshole and never intended on actually picking up the series anyway, just wanted to stir up drama.
How can I earn some money from translating and typesetting random shit I feel like doing at my own pace?
I'm stuck translating a bit of character banter, which is 90% name homphone puns. Like "Satou" with both "sugar" and "drunkard". Or Asai/Fukai.
>tn note: satou means sugar
>tn note: asai/fukai are antonyms
No other way to do it besides being a rewrite fag, it's shou ga nai user.
What to do if you have a higher res version than the one on exhentai? (The current exhentai one does not exceed the limits)
because i don't trust the quality of anything i'd produce and i don't trust my ability to ask web authors for the go-ahead fluently
I'm gonna do a rewrite, because TNs fail to carry the humour over. It's just a bit involved because each character is taking sarcastic jabs/building on the previous pun.
I'm still partial to the theory that they sniped themselves with a dummy account so they had an excuse to drop that shit-tier manga.
Just started a new job, just moved, and all my friends tested neg for 'rona, so we wanna hang out and BBQ etc before it starts snowing.
My projects are suffering but I'm not gonna ditch my social life. (Still feel guilty tho)
How do people find typesetters?
I don't want to typeset anymore. I hate fonts.
Last year I was thinking about finally stopping.
Now I suddenly have more active projects than I ever have before. At least 3 of them are up to date and the other two are short and have already ended...
Gotta tell us what you’re working on user
I'm working on an algorithm to automatically solve scrambled images but it's tougher than expected.
It's a few projects at this point, mostly some long forgotten josei series. I end up scripting (which is tolerable) and then redrawing (which is fun), but the moment I so much as THINK of typesetting my motivation disappears and it's a drag. A while back, I decided to pick up an action-y seinen series with loads of sfx and I haven't been able to work up the effort to even redraw because the thought of typesetting all of this makes me want to cry. Am I overscripting? Just not talented enough? Who knows? All I know is that I'm tired of it.
I still have no names. might wanna join a group instead.
>Am I overscripting?
Are you what?
Typesetting is what I like to do the least nowadays but between font presets, actions, and typesetterer and it's autocenter function, I've managed to automate it to the point where I barely have to pay any attention at all. I can even listen to audiobooks while typesetting now, which I never used to be able to.
Same. I enjoy translating, but back and forth with the PR/TS/QC gets tiring. As does the tendency for staff to disappear without notice, stalling the series for weeks. I've had 15ish translated chapters just waiting around for the rest of my group in the past.
Seeing the popularity of MTL is also pretty demoralising.
Sometimes I think I should dump my scripts and let randos typeset if they are interested.
I haven't given names because I'm just ventposting and wanted general advice.
I was a part of a group a year and a half ago, but that dissolved in a really ugly way. Scan groups have given me slight anxiety ever since.
The copying and pasting is really monotonous. It helps a bit to physically type it out, but unless I script in a way that's conducive to that I just get tempted to plug and chug. Lately I've just been doing tiny bits and pieces to remind myself how I want to translate something.
Post an example of a scrambled image? I want a go at it too.
>put squares into array
>rotate array
this works on 90% of sites that do this

Typesetting is monotonous, no two ways about it. You only get to show any form of creativity through the initial font choices and SFXs. And why would you type it out if you've already prepared a script? That's just wasting time even if you intend to make changes. You could translate directly in Photoshop, and make adjustments later as part of QC. Most solo scanlators I know do that.
Looking for any info of where to get raws or where to buy Super Dash & Go! Magazine (スーパーダッシュ&ゴー! ) volume 2013/04 and 2013/06. Trying to find Mermaid's Flowerbasket (人魚の花籠) by Takabatake Enaga chapter 2 and 3.
What method? Something like just trying to determine how to match borders of each region or comparing to a lower quality screenshot?
For me, it's about keeping a steady pace in my work. If I'm just copying and pasting, then I end up losing interest and slowing down anyway.
You could try emailing ripperanon
If you make it, I can get you the scrambled (early) raws
