I don't get it, what's the appeal?
>normally a all powerful magic using lich
>also has the best end level gear in the game
>also he can become a top tier warrior when ever he wishes and use more OP gear
>also he isn't limited to a single school of magic and can even use holy magic as a nercomancer skelly lord
>also he can use consumable items removed from the game
>also can use OP cash shop items
>was also one of the games top players and knows everything about the game down to each NPCs stats
>on top of all that he can summon things more powerful than most living things in the game
How am I meant to care about the fights when he just uses the raging dragon-gods flame as a I win button whenever he feels like it.
Overlord
It has really good OPs.
Oh yeah forgot to mention, he is guarded by a team of raid bosses who are all really powerful in their own right.
You mean you didn't enjoy half a season of lizard sex or half a season of blue's clues goblins in their child's village?
Or the arc of him bullying adventurers that he personally conned into raiding his fortress.
It's almost like the op/ed's sucked up all the budget.
you are not the target audience
there is an entire genre of 'overpowered MC does whatever the fug they want' that some people watch and enjoy, just like the cute girls doing cute things genre or the cute girls being put through immense suffering genre or the lesbian roleplaying genre
just accept you cannot understand it and move on
I like the stupid shit with him and his OP crew but everything else is just a pointless waste of time. You want comedy? Go look at what fans say about the show how he had no choice but to torture everybody because they came into his home and how he and his people aren't actually evil.
Him doing whatever the fuck he wants is the only time the show is actually fun. Instead they waste 50% of their screen time on characters that are meant to die a few episodes after they're introduced anyway.
Personally, I think it has one genuinely good arc, and it tricked me into thinking the rest of the story might eventually get good. The final arc of season one has real tension, some interesting mystery, and actually explores a theme that I found engrossing. The way it explores the relationship between him and the servants is good.
Putting yourself in their shoes, you can imagine the feeling of being created by literal gods, knowing them on a personal level, interacting with them daily, and then over time, one by one, all of your gods leave you. Except one. For whatever reason he stays with you, and as a result you are utterly, slavishly devoted to him. I understand entirely why they would rather die than have him risk his life in the battle with Shalltear in a way I never do for other servant archetypes. And in return he is devoted to them. He could just nuke Shalltear without too much trouble, but instead he uses stunningly valuable resources to save her.
And then this idea is never really explored again because there's no time in the midst of all the retarded powerwank.
Completely agree with this. I enjoyed this part of the first season, I enjoyed Sebas doing things in the second, and I guess I enjoyed the emperor's character in the third but that's it. I was ready to hate him for dressing like a trannie but he's actually the only rational character in the show.
The appeal of these OP MC isn't about how OP they are, but it's appealing due to what kind of relationships that's they're building in this new world. It's especially appealing to people who are introverts, unsuccessful, ugly, and/or mediocre in life because it let them see and feel how other people would treat them if they were the OP MC/hot/attractive/chad. Have YOU ever imagine how your life would be if you were an extrovert, high IQ, rich, and successful chad that is drowning in pussy? You would definitely not be here because every relationships, either romantic or friendship, will be filled with satisfaction and positive feelings.
I feel the same way about Log Horizon.
I see lots of smart, rich, and successful people engaged in flame wars on twitter, so I doubt any amount of personal failure can really be attributed to why I stay.
It's not about the fights, that it's the case on A LOT of isekais
I don't mind overpowered characters, but Ainz is boring as fuck.
There are a lot of things happening culturally and socially right now. They're not really "smart" as you think they are. In your eyes, you see them as smart, but I think they're just rich and successful either through luck and/or trust funds. Extrovert, high IQ, rich, good looks, and successful chads are extremely rare just like these OP MC. If these people exists, they would be hanging out with their own community or a small group of friends that they kept close. Unfortunately IRL, if your IQ is too high, you will be a "complete retard" in term of sociability/communication. Great examples are Einstein, Tesla, H.P. lovecraft, etc. These people are fucking nuts. Tesla have a pigeon waifu and does not like to socialize with the outside world. Einstein had multiple marriage because he just want to play around with math and equations instead of having a relationship (it was so bad to the point where his wife is nothing but a maid that brings foods to the entrance of his closed door).
As for being HERE, it's a great place to hang out because you can't talk about anime/manga any where else. Even in other forums, you get censored or jannies give you a good dicking because you're not allow to flame nor banter. You can definitely not talk about anime IRL because only children watch mongolian cartoons.
That has the be the most retarded shit I've ever read, unlike in the shitty disney flicks you've clearly based your perception of life on, higher intelligence leads to a better social life and a happier life rather than a worse one.
>i think they're just rich and successful through luck
Imagine being this proud of being unsuccessful in life.
ReZero is better.
and Konosuba is better than both.
Yep, you're right. You must also agree that majority of people that hang out on Zig Forums have amazing social and happy life. Japan & other eastern Asian countries are in the top 10 in term of IQ. I am certain that they have better social life and happier life than everyone in the world. Especially Japan, with their ~105 average IQ, they must have one of the best social life and happy life where they don't commit suicide.
Imagine getting this upset because somebody called you out on thinking the only way to be successful is to get lucky.
I believe my phrasing of "rich and successful either through luck and/or trust funds" was in response to the other guy saying:
>the smart, rich, and successful people >engaged in flame wars on twitter
Nothing of what I said was meant for any other group that isn't engaging in flame wars on twitter. I don't believe in luck because I define it as preparation meets opportunity. I don't care too much about people calling me unsuccessful because technically I am "unsuccessful" due to me being a virgin at the age of 30+. I only have to work 2 days per week in a health care field that pays me 2.5k per week. At least I am happy, even though I am unsuccessful genetically and romantically, by enjoying these mundane and "degenerate" hobbies. Pretty sure my IQ is low too, so you can make fun of that if you like.
>Go look at what fans say about the show how he had no choice but to torture everybody because they came into his home and how he and his people aren't actually evil.
Seriously. I fucking hate Overlordfags. They literally argue that what he did was okay because the adventurers said they were willing to risk their lives. Except he didn't just kill them; he literally tortured and experimented on them.
This show really went to shit after season 1.
holy fuck did the dude in the webm's left ankle collapse on him?

Except Japan has a lot more factors than just IQ separating it from other countries, japan isn't just America but with less flat earthers there is way more at play than just raw brain power. The comparison is stupid, it's like taking away 10,000 dollars from 30 billionaires and from one poor family and saying that money doesn't statistically matter all the much.
I was pretty disappointed with stuff like this throughout the show ngl. I even skipped like half an episode multiple times because it was just adventurers I dont give a fuck about having a meeting about shit that the viewer audience is already well informed about.
It's one thing to set up lots of interesting characters with foreshadowing for their own arcs and developments but when it gets in the way of telling a cohesive story in the meantime it really bugs me.
The floor and area guardians were afforded ample characterization and completely deprived of development, like the main characters ended up being the side characters who don't matter and the guardians are all just plot devices. That really sucks.
What could the author be thinking giving half of his novels to newly introduced characters each volume when he hasn't even explored the main cast?
>Care about the fights
Retard alert
>They're not really "smart" as you think they are. In your eyes
Might be, but one thing I know for sure. You are an idiot who thinks way to highly of himself and those are the worst types of idiots out there.
