By the time he's learnt how to do modern day stuff like reading and using the pc, he's already a different character compared to Ohma. He's got some psycho tendencies and wears glasses so he has enough differences to be his own character. As a matter of fact, it's not even hard to be your own character comparing to Ohma considering he's barebones for a MC. The real challenge is keeping it consistent otherwise you'll get readers who could confuse the two if you put them in the same panel acting the same way.

Meh, i don't see any future for his style if he stops using it for killing. Raishin style was created around "one-shot kill" attacks. You can't use it for public matches.

Maybe it could be converted into a "support" style rather than the main aspect of a fighter. If Rei found a way to integrate side-hops into the style it'd be incredibly dangerous to use for a striker and could even counter grapplers to an extent. Any attempts to tackle and drag said striker to the ground can be literally flash-stepped out of.
Grappling sounds like a dangerous situation for a Raishin style user to be in on that note.

honestly not great but Rihito didn't exactly shine in Ashura anyway. I'm mostly disappointed at how terrible was Gaolang's fight in Omega, given how good both his fights were in Ashura, and seriously mad at the Fang vs Fang fight so far. I know Kanoh was insane even for a Fang, but still, these guys are showing nothing interesting so far and the rules of the game are quite bad anyway.
