Seems like the LN publishers almost ruined the franchise, but it seems like the manga managed to salvage it in time to at least keep it afloat at arund the middle of the bunch, however if you want it to be "king of isekai" then you better hope for the anime to somehow pull a mini-KnY or something of that sort, or at least have it become super popular with the chinks, else you can forget it.

According to the universal acceptable age dating rule it would be ok to date 60 / 2 + 7 = 37.

If it was a niche series from the start, it'd be one thing, but despite the decline, the WN is still at #4 on Narou even now. The fact that the LN of such a supposedly popular series can only mean three things:
Either the publisher is too incompetent to do proper marketing and PR for it, or the readerbase is full of poorfags, or the readerbase simply lost interest in the series by now. Though most likely it's all three of these reasons overlapping. Though the fact that the manga is doing well enough for itself, for what it's worth, kinda indicates that the LN publisher is likely the most at fault here.

The entire 2nd half of the WN the author was just looking for a way to wrap it all up. we were all very invested in the characters at this point so we kept on reading, but looking back from the moment he started working under orsted it was barely decant.
