Kaworu is explicitly the least human of the cast and I interpret him as representing an ideal too lofty to expect any real human to compare to -- which is why he has to die as part of Shinji's journey to actualization

I suppose I think of it with the negative connotation of "inhuman" because I'm still so far, and know I'll never really get there. I keep wondering if this incomplete version ends up with me causing more harm than good compared to if I focused on a more grounded ideal. But every time I try to bring it down to earth, it feels wrong. I can accept enacting something less than perfection, but I can't accept striving for less than perfection.

The first part of 3.0. is always so weird and sad to me. I get the were trying to make us feel like Shinji, not knowing what the heck was going on, but I don't like how Misato treated him. I expected that from Asuka because her approach to Shinji is always aggressive, but damn it still sucks.

They haven't shown the messages of Shinji/Kaworu/Rei/Asuka on the stream yet, right?

Mari and Kaworu were shown just before 3.0 started. We are missing Shinji, Rei and Asuka which, hopefully, we will get before the trailer or whatever they have prepared.

to me its not about where you will get, its about where we will get.
the prospect of humanity getting sent back to the stone age again and again and again until the Earth gets hit by a gamma ray burst or the sun goes supernova and Earth ceases to be in a goldilocks zone makes me genuinely seethe more than the idea of humanity's inevitable extinction.
