How do you feel about vinland saga put an unironic trans character?

I honestly don't care (anymore?). I am also sure I would even accept her if it was just that, but by the point she/him/whatever appeared I already lost every bit of patience for this show I once had. I cannot even force myself to read the new chapters. MAYBE I will pick it up again if the next arc should be good but I doubt it. Vinland was never supposed to be a "childriendly" slog about a funny crew and women. I would probably not care or maybe even consider it okay if it was simply a new series he had done instead of turning VS into this.

It's not like with askeladd or thors. While their strength is exaggerated I at no point would think that their characters don't fit in this world. This on the other hand is a jojo character who was introduced for the sake of subversion.

Nowhere have I talked about "adult" content and not, actually, the first arc was mostly and literally shounen, as in, published in a shounen magazine. I said childriendly shit because it's literally what the fucking author called current VS. He wants to make it more childriendly for his son.

What I meant was that VS always had some superpower shenanigans but it never completely broke the immersion for me or made it impossible to consider this a historical setting, it just had some fights that were over-the-top, especially related to Thorkell. But now everything feels like a generic anime, and not even a shounen. I cannot take it seriously anymore because despite all the ORA WA shit arc 1 had going on it was still a series set in a merciless historical world in which the actual main characters murdered a whole village of innocents to get some money and food, with a corrupt king the pseudo-MC beheaded (and he had to die for it), shitty politics, people that set out to make war because they believed it would bring them glory but it never did, a lot other things.

And now? Now it's a comedy slog with preogressive women, a dog and baby and a bunch of funny guys and a MC that always gets out of trouble due to sheer luck and asspulls, because he would long since be killed otherwise. Then we have a woman who is a genius inventor, another one that is annoying as shit and was almost responsible for the main cast being killed a bunch of times but still never being critizised for it, because she is "cute woman" with blushing cheeks. Don't let me get into the actual chapters beginning with that shounen faggot lance fighter and everything afterwards or the skipping of something that could have been the most interesting arcs so far.

Face it faggot, your series is shit. Nobody says anything against Farmland. Farmland was the route to peace done right.
