Nope. His zanpakuto is strong, but Shunsui himself is not on Yama's level, or even masked vizard level in base stats. Nothing Shunsui has ever done indicates that he could effortlessly stop Mask's 10x red mask fury punch barehanded like Renji did and the RG are presumably stronger than that or current Byakuya.

Only thing that made me realize how stupid Shinagami look and fight is all about their pride.
You have these top tier swordsmen that almost never had a real fight in hundreds of years. It makes sense in their cockiness to never try to use all their power (like Bankai or high level kido) to prioritize a win, unlike ninjas in Naruto.

Starrk did push Shunsui to bankai, but Ukitake stepped in and then the vizards, and by the time Shunsui and Starrk fought again, Starrk was weakened.

I want to like this, and I like a lot of it but it all feels so rushed in retrospect. I just feel that feeling I felt when I read Bleach was ending in 6 chapters whenever I do, I hope Kubo can fix it in the anime.

I guess we all can agree that the arc needs many things added since Yuha wears the eye wig and the elite fights starts. I hope kubo is able to add things he wanted as this final stretch is very rushed.
