>Because in japan city wall = garden fence
Because it's fantasy and people generally don't give a shit about that sort of thing when the setting has magic and dragons.

I'm pretty sure most major civilizations figure that out ages ago.
I too prefer starfort cities
Didn't it have trees on all sides? There were definitely trees south, on the map between Pront and Izlude. They thinned out as you went south toward the Sograt. Pretty sure there were trees west, on Rocker field, near the wall. Barely remember what was east of Pront since you rarely go that way, besides to go mess with mandragoras or yoyos or go all the way to the monk abbey. But there were probably trees next to the wall there too. The amount is off but eh, gamescale.
Does Myne and her sister sleep in the same room as her parents? Where do those stairs lead to?
They all also in the same room. I think they even show it in the show. The stairs lead to the other flats in the building.

Heian's city design was copied after Changan's.
Hexagon is the right compromise between circle and quadrilateral shapes. Easy to build walls + additional space. In reality city walls had random shapes and slowly expanded toward the outside with time
But those walls look legit
People would often build buildings into/out from the walls themselves too
Most medieval planned towns followed the vaguely rectangular model though
We did the same desu
Just not for the big cities
Wrong era negro
Based and Romanpilled
This one was build upon the ruins of a roman castel you dipshit
>Most medieval planned towns followed the vaguely rectangular model though
Yes, but triangle or spindle-shaped market squares were not uncommon during certain medieval periods, especially if there were geographical features that lend themselves towards that.
What do they eat?
