Fight scenes last about 4 minutes at best and they don't even look that good. I'm not even a shonenfag, that's just how it is. And in terms of narrative and story it's good for a shonen, but still superficial (so far).
Also Al seems to be the most useless shone protagonist I've ever seen. What's his power other than being a knight armor?

The anime original has a lot more character depth and the way it parallels Amestris with WW1 and WW2 europe is way more interesting. I also think the voice acting is way better from the anime original (both the sub, and the dub surprisingly)
