It's well known that HS is just a ripping group, I can't imagine them needing that many people to manage it all.

I don't think I've ever seen a HS news post that wasn't a shitpost in this vein. They've always referred to themselves as a legitimate fansub group. I have no idea why people expected a serious reason for them giving up.

Over a decade folks. Over a decade and there are legitimately people who don't realize Horriblesubs never actually subbed things. This entire time. Nobody questioned how they could put out releases in only an hour after the airing for so many shows, even fucking full-length OVAs and movies.
