Yes, but try to get anyone who is new to anime to watch a 20-somethign episode first season in order to reach After Story.
It's best me and you, and anyone else wise enough to quietly remember its greatness.

unironically lurk more faggot

No, Clannad means family

family means no one gets left behind

I like the first season much more. It's goofy harem shit with flat characters but the show is self-aware of it and it mostly works. After Story is melodrama that goes beyond cheesy, it is just kind of painfully bad at some point and the ending is a joke.

That doesn't make any sense, the arcs in the first season had tons of cheesy melodrama. Meanwhile, the setup for the second season was a lot better and more natural since it was built up over the course of the entire season 1 and part of season 2.
Also, the only people I hear complain about the ending are those who never paid any notice to the foreshadowing.

Same, I apparently have a real weakness to (despite my own relationships being totally fine)

It's were you belong, crossie.

>ending is a joke
I love how Clannad has a built-in test to see if people understood the themes

No matter how much foreshadowing you do, you can never make a reset ending good.

wrong

I never said I didn't like the first season, only it's a hard sell this day and age, and to me the show ill be better without a newer audience, let it fade away into classic status.

Smaller stakes melodrama with her stupid drama club and his daddy issues. It was more relatable overall even with ghost girl and his autistic childhood friend who he totally forgot about. Season 2 brings in the most ridiculous gang war I have ever seen, little sister pandering, widow and deadbeat dad melodrama so the viewer cries at the inevitable emotional breakdown and reunion despite this feeling very contrived, and best girls are totally sidelined to focus on this shit too. Oh, and the small magical power that creates happiness hinted at throughout the show is nothing on the scale of what randomly happens at the end. A better ending would be everyone moving on and being happy with the life they have.

you are very nitpicking at the strangest things
>retarded ghost girl and autist who lost her parents is relatable
>an insecure and depressed sunohara or having a deadbeat dad isn't
you sure it just didn't strike a chord and getting bitter that the characters ended up happy?

>Doesn't know "even with" means excluding those elements from relatability.
>Thinks grandpa would actually put up with this shit for half a decade without kicking his deadbeat ass into gear.
>Tries to psychoanalyze others to justify his own shit taste.

>themes of accepting the loss of others and moving on with the precious things you have
>lol nope just restart everything and live your happily ever after life lol

dango is shit

I don't have to psychoanalyze, you just straight out sound bitter as fuck.
it would be more believable if you also hated season 1

People who have shit arguments, in this case completely unable to even positively argue anything at all about said themes, always go to the "2deep4u" faggotry as the hill to die on. It's tiresome really.

Again, since you seem dense as fuck, a show can have a happy ending that it earns, which this show didn't for reasons already outlined. And to make it even clearer for you, I wish she never died and the show showed their family life instead.

>LURK MOAR
>kino a crossboarder meme
Yah sure, non Zig Forums

I'm not saying the show isnt good by any means. In fact its one of my definite favorites. However, pointing to something like the themes as an answer to why someone would like the show is dishonest as the show does not even uphold the themes they are trying to present.

Clannad means raping and beating the shit out of Tomoyo!

It’s the name of a band.

>suddenly asspulled ghost girl story!
>get invested
>fuko gets erased from mcs memory. Get sad, cry a little.
>BUT NO, ACTUALLY SHE STILL THERE AS A COMIC RELIEF CHARACTER! LOL
That's the moment i dropped that emotionalbait moeshit.

>DURRRHHH KINO XD HURRRR
Fuck off. Kino means cinema, stop misusing words you fucking brain damaged troglodytes

Why are people only just know realizing that Clannad is a masterpiece?
