Why didn't Psyren get an anime?
Why didn't Psyren get an anime?
What is this manga about? Never heard of this.
JUMP manga that came out around the same time as Beelzebub and reborn yet never got an anime despite the other two getting one. MC-kun answers a pay phone and gets teleported to dystopian future where he and friends fight monsters, humanesque monster villains, and try to prevent the world from turning into that dystopian future. They go back and forth from shit future and present a few times. It's pretty unremarkable but readable. Only like 140 chapters iirc
For the same reason Chainsaw Man won't.
What does that even mean
It was too based for nip taste.
>reborn
Came out in 2004.
>Beelzebub
Came out in 2009.
>Psyren
Came out in 2007.
No one cared about Reborn until 2007
Because God hates us.
too sacred to be touched by the hands of filthy animeonlyfags
It honestly wasn't even that good
It's leans too much into Seinen territory for Shonen jump's approval.
Had the bad luck of being serialized during a time where Jump had pretty strong series all around so it was doomed to teeter on the axebait edge AND it was harder getting an anime adaptation back then. Also it unfortunately had unremarkable sales
While it might have been generic shounen, it really didn't deserve to be axed the way it did.
>useful side characters and unique powers
Yep, this is how you know a series is going to be axed. Fuck Japan and their god fucking awful taste.
I speak as someone who enjoyed reading it it wasn't as good as anons in this thread are making it seem. It's on the same level as most shounen series. It was cool seeing the kids from the present grown up in the future especially that kid with the long ponytail and chinese clothing. He was cool
I blame Psyren for giving me a brown shota fetish desu
It was a fuckton better than shit like 7 deadly sins and black clover that get anime nowadays.
Reborn didn't come out around then. Here's a better timeline.
July '07: Sket Dance begins publication. Runs for 6 years.
November '07: Pysren begins publication. Runs for 3 years.
March '08: Nura begins publication. Runs for 4 years.
May '08: Toriko begins publication. Gets a HUGE push by Shueisha and runs for 8 years.
August '08: Bakuman begins publication. Instant hit and runs for 4 years.
December '08: Kuroko begins publication. Runs for 6 years.
February '09: Beelzebub begins publication. Runs for 6 years.
May '09: Medaka Box begins publication. Runs for 4 years.
And that was just the new stuff. When Psyren started Kochikame, OP, HxH, PoT, Naruto, Bleach, Eyeshield 21, Gintama, D. Gray-man, and Reborn were all still going strong. It was unfortunately just another drop in the bucket to them.
I re-read it at the beginning of the quarantine, still very enjoyable, shame about the rushed as fuck ending.
I don’t know, but I enjoyed it. Maybe I’ll go back and re-read it.
spider villain came out of nowhere
Any idea about the epilogue LNs?
I only know a few facts about it
The mangaka is a hack who hasn't made anything good since
Who was that again?
The only really cool fight was the main villain fighting some nigga in present day it was like chapter 100 or 110 or something
>I speak as someone who enjoyed reading it it wasn't as good as anons in this thread are making it seem. It's on the same level as most shounen series.
Is because of people like you that good things can't happen
>Gets a HUGE push
It got an anime by Toei so it really didn't get a "huge" push
I HATE THAT SHIT
It got lead color for the first 2 chapters, and got the cover again for chapter 12. It was clearly pushed.
if this mango came out today it would dominate over garbage like chainsawman or jujutsu kaisen
Translation for the novel epilogues are out there somewhere, so there's some consolation.
Did the mangaka ever do anything after Psyren?
It shouldn’t have been axed.
