Funi has always been shit, but now CR is doing this too even with their moe anime.
What the hell is going on? What is the purpose of watering down the Japanese shit in Japanese cartoons?
What the fuck is wrong with subs nowadays?
subtitles cater to the lowest common denominator of viewers and only people familiar with the language know what honorifics mean in context.
they're not necessary to convey roughly what's going on and just serve to lengthen the number of characters that your brain has to process for a given subtitle line
Burger is too scared at the slight of culture.
I'm more annoyed by the fact that they're not yellow.
>not チノちゃん, 千夜さん and リゼ先輩
Honorifics in English are retarded. Learn Japanese and stop being a cuck.
I've heard they're gonna start bleeping out the honorifics as to not offend Americans.
i still don't get honorifics. and what's the difference between kun and chan?
what the hell are you doing here? go back to other forums for newfags.
it never makes sense to me
I'm watching japy shit because I want to be immersed in their culture. I don't want english crap that's not in katakana.
you could google this but -kun is usually for boys and -chan for girls. you would generally only use them for a child or somebody close to you. -san is general like you would use in a business or public setting
There is no reason to use them in english you fucking weebs I ought to beat the shit out of you
>defending/encouraging burger subs
>using weeb as an insult
What happened to Zig Forums?
wow you're badass
English does not have honorifics. There is no reason to preserve this artificial construct in translated dialogue. Instead, where honorifics are relevant, the translated dialogue should supply the necessary emotional context. Not translating honorifics is just lazy.

Every line with an honorific should include a TL note explaining the exact context and how it signifies the relationship between both individuals, to convey the full experience.
OK, Mr. user.
>caring about honorifics
Nobody here is going to be impressed by your entry level knowledge of the Japanese language. If you're not just a pretentious EOP you'll learn the language and graduate from your training wheels.
Eh I don't really mind if the subs omit honorifics because I can still hear the character say it.
Might as omit names while we're at it since we can hear them amirite?
Omit the subs entirely. There's nothing more cucked than relying on a translation.
>subs cater to normalfag and that's a good thing
>my brain is too small to process a three-letter word every now and then
You're pretty much openly admitting that your point of view is the normalfag/retard standpoint, so I don't even really need to argue against you.
>my brain is too small to process a three-letter word every now and then
leave them out because everyone can hear it and process it by themselves dumbass
why leave them out in the first place? you'll just lose information and nuance. There's 0 benefit in doing it.

Yes, because subs are for normalfags.
Have you ever met a normalfag?
Every single one I've ever met was a dubfag
