Willingly chooses death in order to go in the depths of Hell to take out Hades herself

There will NEVER be a shounen female character more badass than Athena.

Americans are retarded

I love Saori. Even though she is kidnapped most of the time, her dedication is inspiring. There were many nice moments with her early in S1, I remember where she threw away her valued items to prove a point that heart is above all to her bodyguard.

She's kidnapped one time in the manga.
In the twelve temples she's wounded,
In Poseidon she goes willingly to the undersea temple and goes willingly into the pillar to stall for time,
in Hades ,
in Next Dimension she... turned herself into a baby? idk what's going on there.

>in Next Dimension she... turned herself into a baby? idk what's going on there.
It was Chronos trolling. She didn't stay long as that

And even wounded she still assists and helps the saints all the way through the fight with Saga

thanks user

Saint Seiya has great ideas but it feels like it's creator holds it back.

>ywn have an athena gf

It's still superior to most battle shounen due to the fact the cast is ACTUALLY used.
You get dozens of solo fights dedicated to Shiryu, Hyoga, Shun, Ikki, as well as the Golden Saints, Athena and even minor characters like Kiki, Marin and Shina, without even mentioning Seiya.
The fact that a 80s manga pulls that off when it's still not the norm up to this day shows how ahead of its time Saint Seiya was.

Inuyasha is borderline Shoujo, and the mangaka is a woman, it's to be expected

Don't get me wrong it gets a lot of things right, but it also gets a lot of things wrong, which explains why it fizzled out.

Gash Bell utilizes it's cast to great effect to, and so did Shaman King now that I think about it.

Thankfully we're getting a reboot, now if we could just get Gash back as well

Good thing for that, I wish that Saint Seiya could get a competent revamp too, but I think that Kuramada would have a fit if they went against his ideas or explore them better than he did.

They already did that in the original anime, I think the real problem is with the prequel shit he is adding

It feels like he only started doing the prequel shit because Lost Canvas took his idea and showed made a good prequel from it. It feels like he saw it and thought that he could do better.

Why not just continue from where Hades stopped, ffs Kurumada

That's what possession me off, like okay Lost Canvas was good but there's no need for you to remake it, just keep moving forward there's a lot more interesting things that I'd rather see.

Hades should've won.

He technically won because he killed Seiya and the series altogether

Technically Seiya is only dead because of that Next Dimension.

I mean, the story of Seiya ended in Hades, Soul of Gold is a midquel about the Golden Saints, we don't talk about Saintia Sho and even less about Omega
What a bleak cliffhanger

Omega was just a lost opportunity on so many levels, as was Saintia Sho.

Oh yeah.

Poor Java went through all of that only to later on get cucked by Seiya.

Omega had some good ideas and some good arcs, but it also had terrible ones. Honestly, if you reworked some stuff it could be pretty solid.

ONII-SAN

Pretty much, but I think that they were too afraid of pissing off Kurumada to really go for it.

But they barely if ever have a moment to themselves for characterization so they feel very bland. Choreography is also nonexistent.

The movies did a significant disservice to her to give the feeling that she is useless.

In the manga she gets shit done. After all, the main characters could actually beat the final arc bosses by themselves. Saga commits suicide because he betrayed Athena. Athena is the one who actually seals Poseidon. And she stabs Hades to death.

Athena is great, I just wish that her she was given more character.

Perhaps the same could be said for all Saint Seiya characters
