What will be the next big trend after Isekai runs its course?

Where else would it be?

The future will forever oscillate between decade long stints of Battle Academies and isekai.

The one trend that I really want to see end is putting the entire resume in the title. I really, really fucking hate seeing shit like "I got reincarnated as a chicken but actually I have the strongest beak in the moon and the farmer is a hot 10/10 woman who have the hots for my drums BUT I got kicked out of the hero's nation and my secret class allowed me to turn a bottle of water upside down"

One can only dream

Isekai is an ideal genre, it will never go away

Mecha please

One thing that confuse me is that tomboy romance isn't rare at all in doujins but rarely happens in serialized series. There's obviously a demand for this stuff, but it's like the nips simply stubornly refuse to provide for it.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it doesn't exist at all, just that you'd think there would be more.

the anime equivalent of onlyfans

Isn't that basically V-tubers?

That's a consequence of web novels. So many things to read, so hard to stand out especially with the boom of WNs becoming a path to book deals. A lot harder to get away with just a simple title like Overlord. Reminds me that SAO is actually an interesting case because it was not hosted on a WN platform.

La verdad no lo se negro, yo diria que esta entre chicas haciendo ejercicio\deporte o los animes de pelea estilo baki oshuumatsu no Valkyrie

I can understand that, but if experience told me anything is that these authors have little to fuckall creativity and their shit is yet another rehash of the same god damn story that's been told a fuckillion times

based

I know it's probably not going to happen, but I'd love to see death games get a huge burst in popularity. They're my guilty pleasure.

I'd enjoy that and more huge cultural impact Japanese novels getting adapted like IWGP this season.

this is a trend I can get behind 100%

Hopefully ciberpunk

Truck is sent to other world
Dead person on road remains

Why is so much of it truck based? This may be silly but it's honestly what bugs me the most. It's bad enough it's already so copy pasted and unoriginal but why do you have to copy the means of reincarnation too? There's a depressingly and terrifyingly huge number of ways to die.

I suppose something that panders even harder to otaku, but I'm not sure that's possible

Is Gantz an isekai?

The new trend never conflicts directly with the old trend, both coexist for some time and the focus changes. Isekai itself is a good example - it doesn't exactly conflict with harem, and you'll see a lot of isekais with harem (as the subgenre) dynamics.

Because of that I think the next trend will be something that couples well with a swords and magic isekai, so it shouldn't dictate the character origin or the setting. Maybe it'll be mindfuck games, or even revenge; maybe something about romance; or even some game mechanic like crafting.

(I like isekai but I hope the isekai fad dies down soon. This way all the "oh look new trend it sells well!" authors will leave, and we'll be left with the ones who actually want to build something new in the genre, not just copy and paste other isekais.)

No idea because I never watched it, but:

1. Is the main character reincarnated or transported into another world?
2. Is the above meaningful for the plot?
3. Does this new world shows considerable differences to the MC's original world?
4. Does the MC explore and/or exploit those differences?
If yes it's probably an isekai.
