I think I heard about no possibility of a 2nd season because of the author not liking the adaptation because I didn't properly portray the MC in the anime.
I personally liked the anime. People said the MC feels like a self-insert, but honestly, the season ending suggest otherwise lol

The anime was too vague for me regarding the MC's past that it was hard for me to care. And that ending twist where he's supposedly this Machiavellian mastermind was weird, and felt like some edgy incel's power fantasy.
It made me laugh in unintended ways, the premise was too retarded to take seriously and there's little context for the world, why MC is the way he is, etc.
