So Thistle has a total spybot over the entire Dungeon, to the point of being able to basically dissect those within it.
But at the same time it seems that he is meant to be limited in that he has to move through it normally.
Otherwise he'd be able to telefrag everyone that annoys him.
Seems like an odd limit for him being a rough Dungeon Master that even overcame his demon.

Also it didn't appear that Thistle even knew what the Winged Lion was.
So what happened there to keep the Lion down is up in the air still.

I find it interesting the demon has the emotional intelligence it does. It's really good at preying on people's emotions to try mislead and persuade them.

I kinda hope that they're not just mindless beasts out to destroy the world and they have some deeper motivation for the rampages they go on, even if its something as simple as wanting to protect their own dimension from mages pulling in power from it or ripping open portals between it and their own.

It'd be more interesting if they had SOME kind of more complex motivation than just 'succ energy out of people then break out and destroy the world'.

Yes but that's from the perspective of people from this world, we don't have any insight into why demons do it from their perspective. They might have something more than "got curious, got trapped, time to raise hell."

I like the idea that the "limitless" energy the other dimension offers is actually limited and that tearing so much out of it to power dark/ancient magic really pissed off the demons who were suffering from its loss, hence why they so willingly entered this world once the way was opened and started feeding on it. They're trying to get even.

Its how demons reproduce.

Lion is evil incarnate, feasting on desires so it can escape and destroy the world. Thistle somehow managed to imprison it before it could eat his desires and turn him into a husk like the elven leader, but he still went mad over time.
