how would you make a romance manga whose audience is young men (rather than girls who like gay shoujou shit) interesting and unique? (((the story is not 100% just the main character MC-kun trying to find a way to confess his love with it ending once he does)))

Can't, boys are stupid and have shit taste. Easiest way is to just write a shoujo and put it in a shounen magazine.

You can't, the best you'll get is something like Spy x Family where romance is only one of several aspects.

Make the FeMC a slobbering goober nobody loser. Then make the male lead relatively good at the few important things, a hard worker; someone who's not exactly perfect but not exactly someone you're always forced to punch your computer screen over.

Have them hook together & confess in the first episode. And then have them become wingmen to everyone else.

>boys are stupid and have shit taste
>Implying that girls aren't stupid and also have shit taste

>two episode arcs
>each episode odd number episode starts out with some common real life relationship trope
>every respective following even number eps features the fallout and resolution
>same couple, 12 eps, six arcs
>slice of life, shounen style art
>make the male cast somewhat exciting and cool but not too unrealistic

1. the art has to be good.
2. do not shy away from sex.
3. both characters should be proactive in some way. The guy can be more physical but the girl might want more emotional attachment
4. Fan service should be included to keep the young men interested and awake.
5. Drama should be minimal or focused on furthering the relationship.
6. This is an extra but show both sides of perspective.

>Shadows of grey/gray is a best seller among women
Lmao

1. sex scene (fuck fanservices).
2. unfortunate events / tragedy.

10/10 masterpiece.

Isn’t that just the average harem shit in shounen magazines? And isn’t kaguya shounen

Kaguya is for lonely OLs, Aka straight up said it in interviews. Maybe it started out otherwise, but Miko is an obvious self insert for them and now that Ishidrama has come to the forefront it's only gotten worse.

Harem deconstruction.
>MC used to be popular but is now absorbed with his office work and have no time for romance
>His age is catching up to him so are the girls'
>Need to make one final decision on which girl he wants to be with
>MC has trouble deciding because he was so used to his popular phase and girls fawning over him
>The girls also can't wait much longer as they have their own suitors and might get attached sooner or later

There you go, instant classic seinen romance

Kimi no Iru Machi and Domekano did good by showing actual relationships even if the drama especially in the latter was kind of ridiculous and over the top. Very few manga show young adults dating. It might cut away the insecure purist fags but I think there's potential for more interesting stories than those that are just about the crush and confession.

On a different note fuck all those scenes of accidental fanservice where the MC gets blamed and treated shitty for seeing something when he was absolutely not at fault.

Kino's journey but with tons of Yuri

Nice Jalter pic.
Also, a good romcom only really needs an interesting MC. The mangaka/writer's already got 90% of his work done once they create a good MC instead of Mr. Average dude #90000. Now they only need great love interests and to not fuck up the ending.

thanks I'm proud I found it
also I agree
I love JinHo from Unbalancex2

Hot blooded shounen protagonist power couple. No misunderstandings.

Kannou Sensei.
Oh wait, if you mean young men as in teenager that loves drama mexican telenovela in anime/manga form, then:
Oregairu or Haganai and Kokoro Connect

It's a pretty underrated manga, but I can understand this protagonist better than anything that were mentioned in this thread.
Art wise too.

Well i certainly can see what type of protagonist you like, the prose is certainly from someone who would like to be appreciated in that way and as repulsive as it seems i don't think it's all that horrible.
Masturbating while writing is still silly to me but the way this guy imagines Yukino got me good.

2 and 3 are especially good ideas.

serial monogamy like golden boy
boy fixes girl's not too bad problems while they fall into lust for each other
every arc has a little denoument chapter where they blissfully fuck for a few weeks
they amicably separate for non-tragic reasons
next girl arc begins

- Make the MC someone that otaku losers can identify with because nobody else would be interested in reading male oriented romance manga.
- Make the love interest a cute girl.

Don't listen to people telling you anything else. These are not your target audience. There's a reason why every male oriented romance follows a similar pattern: that's what the largest number of people actually like.

>isn’t kaguya shounen
The magazine where a series is published is no longer definitive when it comes to the genre. Shounen magazines have long realised that a large part of their readers are female, so it's not uncommon to publish series aimed directly at female audiences.

I would copy Tasogare Otome x Amnesia and introduce softest ghost as love interest
easy

Instead of yelling and screaming in publlic about your fetish like every romcom protag ever, he keep it inside and use it in productive ways.
