I thought the anime pacing was ok because it was supposed to be a battle of wits between Beatrice and Battler. The background info of the family was nice as well. BUT the abrupt introduction of Ange was too awkward and detracted from the anime (never got to see the ending, had to play the game to find out).

That's by far the most butchered part of the anime, though. The red text was handled haphazardly with important lines being skipped, the directing was drab as fuck with hotblooded Phoenix Wright-style tracks being ignored in favor of youtube.com

I'm gonna go with the gold/gun/bomb explanation. Watched the anime and honestly the deaths seemed to be a bunch of bullshit, especially the ones caused by magic. Even a brainlet like me could tell that 'magic doesn't exist' and that there were realistic causes to why the characters dying.
