Capeshit monthly floppies don't sell because the format is inherently unsuited to the modern desire for serialized long-form storytelling. There's no clear start or end point, they change creative teams constantly, and they can only be purchased in niche specialist shops which practically exude normie repellent. If you want to start reading Naruto, you can find Chapter 1 online in like 5 minutes. If you want to start reading Superman, you literally need a specialized guide, and you're just going to end up reading stand-alone graphic novels. DC has realized that graphic novels are the future for the industry, which is why they're making a much stronger push in that direction as of late.
