I watched the first nu-Star Wars movie and I could tell that there's nothing to be excited about I can tell that this is not the kind of people who make cool things.
Then the next ones came out, everybody hated them and I wasn't surprised one bit, could see it coming 10 minutes into the first movie.

Same with revuild. 1.11 was a recap, but one glance at 2.22 is enough for you to see where this was going. You could tell what 3.33 was going to be like just from how awful 2.22 was.

Why would I watch a hack's pathetic attempt at milking a series that only got popular by sheer chance rather than due to its quality?

If history is any indicator, it's going to take forever to get a proper cam. 2.0 and 3.0 took at least a month, and when we finally got them, they were shitty as hell quality, and had the middle acts missing. I don't know why, but both were that way. Supposedly, Japan is absurdly strict about cams, so nobody has the balls to attempt it. Hopefully, some weeb US Navy guy will do it or something.

Are the rebuilds worth watching? I just assumed they were going to be a rehash with shiny CGI, whitewashed characters, and a feel good ending.

They deviate from the show at the end of the second one (somewhat before that too but that's where it goes completely off the rails) and the third one is completely original. I don't think they're bad necessarily, though they're not as good as the series and EoE, but I have no idea where the story is going or what's going to happen in 4.0/3.0+1.0. There's also hinting that they're sequels and not remakes/reinterpretations.

Rebuilds are the same exact shit as the Disney Star Wars.
First movie is basically a rehash following an old recipie just not as good.
Second movie takes a wild turn sideways right off the bridge.
Third movie is just a spit in everybody's face, subversion of expectation and tropes taken to absurd, it's a second degree idiot plot that does the stupidest shit imaginable and breaks every universe rule just to surprise or rather appal the viewer. You don't even have to be a fan to be insulted.

You can, although the second movie expect a general knowledge of the original. It's not that you can't understand what happens, bur if you can't recognize what has changed you just won't know why one scene or another is important.

This except I'd bump the rebuilds to a 5. Not awful but not great either. Each has both good and bad aspects to them.

They're OK. I like to think of them as an homage to the original series (except 3, it's bonkers). Watch everything, decide for yourself, then come bitch about it on Zig Forums with the rest of us.

It definitely enhances the second movie to have seen the original series. Their portrayal in 2.22 is almost an idealized version of the characters, like the way the typical otaku wants them to be, rather then how they actually are.
