///Form FAQs///
>WTF where’s the email copypasta? Why are we using a form now?
Get with the times grandpa! We used this form last year and it was a resounding success. Trust us, the old process really sucked.
>Santa, I can’t edit the form!
Select “File”, “Download as”, “Microsoft Excel (.xlsx)” and save a copy for yourself. Fill it out and send it to us as an attachment
>But Santa, I don’t have Excel!
If you have a Google account, you can also create a copy on your Google Drive.
Just click “File”, “Make a copy” and send us a link sharing the document with us in your email.
If you choose to use Google Drive, set the spreadsheet to allow anyone with the link to edit. This speeds up the processing time on our end.
>Santa! I’m /g/ as fuck and I don’t want to use Excel or the Google Botnet!
Scribble your answers on your screen and send us a picture of it!
///General FAQs///
> What is Secret S/a/nta?
A chance to give, receive and post gifts and be a part of an experience with other Zig Forumsnons locally, nationally, or even globally with a bit of X-mas spirit!
> Who is hosting this event? Can I help out?
Your friendly hosts are now Santa Loli, Santafaggot, SpoonSanta, Santa’s Elf, SantaCake SantaBucket, SantaTrap, and SantaGrunt. We are not accepting new Santas at this time.
> How do I join the gift exchange?
Correctly fill out the signup form and email it to us as an attachment or link before the deadline. Once we process it, you’ll receive a confirmation.
> Deadline to join?
OCTOBER 27TH 12:01 AM PACIFIC STANDARD TIME!!!
Dōshite!? Because we need time to match you all, and give everyone enough time to procrastinate until Thanksgiving and then draw cards, buy gifts, and ship them both in time for Christmas.
> Why should I trust this?
It's up to you. We’ve had multiple successful SS events hosted by us for the past few years.
Although the average amount of people not receiving gifts is low, the risk still exists. Please be aware that your mileage will vary. However, we do provide a grinched protection program which lets people send gifts to those who didn't receive anything at all... even after X-mas!
> Can I give you guys stuff?
If you want. I think Santa Loli might have a PO box by now, ask her about it. The other Santas will do what they feel like.
> I ALREADY JOINED, HOW DO I FIX SOMETHING?
If you need to make changes to your wishlist or address, or anything else:
please RE-SEND the application with the changes made as a REPLY to your first e-mail!
This means send the whole application! Let us know what changes were made
> Is the price of shipping included in the price tier?
No shipping costs are not included in the tier.
> When are the threads going to be?
Threads are created only on Fridays/weekends until we get closer to X-mas. The Santas will create them.
///COVID-19 Change FAQs Part 1///
> Holy shit, what happened to the tiers? How can I buy plastic butts for my user?
Sorry, but due to COVID-19 shipping is fucked worldwide right now. It’s widely anticipated that this Winter will see a rise in cases and a corresponding decrease in postal service quality. For USA anons, the mail-in election will also fuck the USPS for most of November and likely December as well.
> But how does having less/cheaper gifts help with all that?
It means you’ll all be able to focus more and ship them out earlier. It’ll also limit financial exposure in case gifts start getting lost.
> Why are we still doing 10 cards then?
We would rather you send 10 out and get 3 back than send 5 and get 0. Post for letters has not been as affected by the changes as packages.
///COVID-19 Change FAQs Part 2///
> Am I going to be responsible for lost/late gifts this year?
All gift senders MUST provide a tracking number to us this year.
Please send it as a response to your gift assignment. If your post doesn’t provide this service or you cannot afford it, then you must send us a picture of what you’re shipping. If and only if you do this, you will not be responsible for what happens to your gift after you ship it. Your user will be anti-grinched if it does not arrive.
> What’s a handmade gift?
Take a look around in the threads. You’ll see plenty of examples of knitting, laser cut wood, horrifying waifu masks, and much much more. People bake cookies/brownies, or buy snacks and booze local to their country. You may not get out what you put in, but remember that giving is the most important part.
> Do you have any other helpful tips for me?
Start everything early. It will take time to receive your gift and to send it out.
Get stuff bought as soon as possible and ship it as soon as you can.
Pay attention to your local postal service’s guidelines.
Be aware that prices may have increased dramatically since you last shipped something. Holiday price surges are incoming.
SAL mail has been suspended indefinitely, so prepare to plan around that too.
Don’t send a hand-made gift or food if you’re feeling sick.
Don’t go delivering gifts IRL, even if someone lives nearby to you.
And please, do not lewd the Rona-chan.
I already got my confirmation
Did you get an exclamation point at the end? That detail is very important.
whats the best way to send cookies and make sure they don't get smashed? my cookies I sent to my card user last year got squished from what I hear
>last week's thread died within one day
Got a bad feeling with what the attendance numbers are gonna be
put them in a properly-sized metal tin. The less room they have to rattle around the more secure they'll be
Gonna be on the low end since entrys are limited to one per person. But hopefully that will cull any duds.
Dollar stores usually have metal tins. I've packaged my cookies along side some tissue paper.
Pad them in plastic baggies and submerge them in dirt. That worked for my middle school egg drop project. Plus it will make packaging dirt cheap.
>only 2 weeks
idiot we're still on october
I forgot it but it's here!
!
the newfags really reveal themselves pretty fast huh?
Metal tins, and place them on top of the present.
He said cardanon, so I'm assuming there's no present.
I can't wait to graduate so I can finally feel secure in doing something like this. I hope everyone has fun!
Good idea, wait until December for the deadline so anons have no time to plan/buy/deliver the gifts in time.
the best time of year has come
>implying people don't procrastinate until december anyway
Is this like the Zig Forums secret Santa where they buy things off of each other's amazon wishlists
Don't post if you can't read at least the OP posts.
Ha, ha, yet another week where I didn't do anything about the wishlist! God I'm pathetic.
Daijobu user, just remember to send it within less than two weeks
I wrote my wishlist in 5 minutes, user. It's not that hard.
Yeah, better to plan it out before and be done with it early.
You got this, user-chan.
the last week's thread died too fast
Maybe there'll be more participation when we move into phase two
what's a phase two?
1 hour till sign-ups stop?
There's nothing to talk about when there isn't even confirmation emails sent out. Threads will be dead until assignments are out and people start working on cards/gifts.
>there isn't even confirmation emails sent out
user, I think you just got blacklisted or fucked up the email adress.
