First one was good ..too slow but good decent 7.5/10 , had an accurate and cool way of time travel and also the anime had a nice vibe , art and atmosphere to it. The English dub was brilliant if not better than sub but sadly the second season steins;gate 0 was not nearly as good.

I think you can appreciate it more if you watched other anime series (not SciAdv just in general) before it. S;G being the greatest anime ever is pure opinion, though it's still pretty decent story even if you're not into the whole time travel shenanigans.
Anime S;G0 is hot shit, reading the VN you can get a better sense of Okabe's character after his trauma. But seeing Maho animated is worth it so it's a little less shit because of that.

The VN is great, one of the best of all time. 0 is roughly just as good, only issue is it had higher highs and lower lows.

Anime is ugly shit

The VN is actually very good. The anime is its decent adaptation, though not as detailed. What makes it unique is that it rooted itself in real-life internet culture (including the whole Futaba vibe and John Titor conspiracy) and almost accurate science for explaining time travel that only crosses into fringe when it needs to. I can't think of any other anime that has done something like this. The characters are very well written and memorable, though many people don't feel that way just based on anime, but S:G and S:G0 VN have multiple endings where each character is given more depth. If you cant read the VN you can always see the playthroughs on youtube. the playthrough by blueshifting is really good

As someone who prefers sub normally , okabe (J. Michael Tatum) was far more intellectually articulate and smooth sounding in the dub than sub which suited him well. Also I'm not American kid stop screaming thinking your better cause you've never watched dub.
