I am honestly impressed by how fucking awful the last arc is after Laurent's backstory.
It just goes completely up its own ass with twists to the point of self parody and renders Edamura and Laurent completely unlikeable cunts.

It could’ve been anime of the year but holy fuck did it crash and burn.
It went to shit after the first arc which wasn’t even that good in the first place
I was unironically calling it AOTY but retracted after that final trainwreck case
>Hey let's just have our two leads work with the villains of the first few arcs as if we didn't set up them being utter scumbags
>Oh and make sure to give the woman who sold children to pedos for a living a happy ending thanks to their efforts
What the fuck were they thinking?
You should have realised the writers were fucked in the head when they had Abbey forgive the guy who bombed civilians during the Iraq war forgiveness for ruining her life because he said sorry
Went from KINO heist comedy with dramatic backstories for interesting and somewhat realistic characters to “How can we fuck up harder than Darling in the Franxx?”
She didn’t do it because she realized she would be repeating a cycle of revenge and that he had suffered quite a lot (relatively).
Freddie Mercury has never made a good song and also inspired a bad anime.
Revenge is good and the only people who disagree are the ones who abuse people's fear of it to avoid consequences for their actions or cowards. She should have killed him.
>revenge is good
>people who fear it want to avoid consequences
That sounds awfully self-serving and extremely immature. The most negative and destructive of emotions are the hardest resist as they do nothing but give you cathartic pleasure from indulging them.
>muh cycle of revenge
Literally a cliche for cowards. Killing evil people who will otherwise not face justice is a moral good and we should stop pretending otherwise
What the fuck is with the recent obsession with the "cycle of revenge" in media now?
>That sounds awfully self-serving and extremely immature.
Not at all, for I am a good person who has never done anything to deserve having revenge taken against me. I simply do not begrudge those who seek it against monsters like that pilot.
>The most negative and destructive of emotions are the hardest resist as they do nothing but give you cathartic pleasure from indulging them.
Catharsis for the victims of heinous crimes is a good thing, just like scum who murders civilians being killed in turn. He had it coming and trying to frame what he did as forgivable is a symptom of a sick culture that values the feelings and dignity of monsters over those they harm - every war criminal who deliberately bombs civilian targets (such as dropping your payload on a city) deserves nothing less than the rope.
the cycle of revenge shit is juster literary nonsense.
>kill evil people
>childish justice
Justice and evil are two sides of the same coin. Justice is nothing but evil sanctioned by the masses. How often are horrendous acts perpetrated by governments justified and allowed because they are called justice?
>cowards
There is nothing cowardly about realizing murder is murder no matter how you fail to twist it.
You sound gay desu
Fuck that shit revenge is great.
>Justice and evil are two sides of the same coin.
An edgelord 16yo who thinks he's a deep thinker typed this sentence.
>There is nothing cowardly about realizing murder is murder no matter how you fail to twist it.
Murder is morally neutral in a vacuum. It becomes good or evil depending on circumstances.
And funny you try to condemn the concept of justice the immediately retreat to "b-but murder bad" when its a concept entirely defined by the justice system.
Abby should have slit his throat. He had it coming.
>murder bad
user murder is a concept that has been defined since humans could talk
Could an user spoonfeed someone who hasn't seen a single episode what exactly the trainwreck was? I mean YT recommended me some clips that I thought were indicative of a really well done show.
Stop being a lazy piece of shit and watch it if you're so intrigued.
The Jap’s dad was a child trafficking lawyer who ended up being the mastermind for the whole thing just so he could groom his son into becoming a criminal. Also his mom faked her own death and was in on the whole thing.
Someone's mad that they got conned into believing criminals were good people.
Fuck that I have work to do when I'm not on a mongolian basket weaving forum.
To be fair, Cynthia's arc was pretty awful too. You just didn't notice it because it was tied to a character nobody cares about.
His Mom faked her death?
When did that happen?
Literally everyone manipulated MC including his own mother and father for no good reason
This. I don't get why they even went with this type of story for an anime, globetrotting scammers, it's like some shitty western tv show with a 'heist of the week' procedure.
Waste of good animation, I can't believe this is popular with the japs, and for the rest of the world, they've already seen this show a thousand times before.
Long story moderately short:
>Turns out literally the entire show has been planned in advance by two characters as build up to an elaborate revenge plot
>One of the two roped his own son into this, who was the MC, taking actions that by all rights constutute as "ruining his life"
>These are in order: framing himself as a child trafficker to ruin his own reputation so he can develop criminal connections with the gang he wants revenge on, leaving his son to care of his dying mother for several years then not reconciling with him when he got out of jail and having her hide the truth from their son till she died, having his partner manipulate his son into joining him across high stakes con jobs where he almost dies twice, then has his partner trick his son into joining the same child trafficking gang network he seeks revenge against when he quits being a conman, and then the dad makes his son think he murdered two of his friends to provoke him into shooting him with a gun loaded with blanks (after reuniting with him and pulling a staged betrayal when his son tried to rescue the kids the gang was selling) to mind break him completely so he'll fully integrate into the organization for a few months and get close enough to the leadership that he can be useful for the dad's revenge scheme
>After all this the son forgives the both of them with little fanfare beyond tricking them into thinking he'd betray them for half a minute because "muh anger bad, just forgive people so you feel better" despite the other two's own revenge plot being treated as legitimate by the narrative
>Oh and the child traffickers all get away with just being stranded on a desert island and scammed out of a few million each but the son sets up a reunion between one of the gang leaders and their estranged son so its implied they'll get back to society anyway and also really fucked how you're meant to be empathising with any of them
Merely 3 months later... I am forgotten.
It's actually just one under a month since the second half released, so even less.
Such is the curse of being a netflix original that isn't an adaptation.
Not at all.
They manipulated MC's entire life to get revenge for the death of some random nigress bitch THAT DIDN'T EVEN ACTUALLY DIE
