Any particular themes you wish were more included in Anime & Manga? For me in particular, I wish there were more manga that includes isolation, envy, obsession, (potentially incest if done in a tasteful manner). I frankly love when stories tackle controversial topics in a tasteful fashion and don't wash over it.
Themes in Anime & Manga
I really wish Anime and Manga emphasize the fact that in a love triangle the friendship between wome vying for the same man’s love and attention actually deteriorates their friendship. It adds a whole layer of drama that many mangakas do not explore.
SUGOI! user-dono!
>(potentially incest if done in a tasteful manner).
Hopefully, you mean realistically. Tired of characters treating incest as a joke and not a serious problem that should be dealt with as soon as possible. It’s disgusting and should be dissuaded.
I wish that most themes that are prevolent were actually written for adults, by adults, with some thought put into it.
Yeah, the thing about love-triangles is that someone is always gonna lose, and nobody really talks about the loser.
Not a Manga, but White Album 2
I really wish the mangakas honestly explored the consequences of the characters actions in-depth instead of sweeping them under the rug.
Isolation and insanity with characters no more than 2 or 3. Like 127 hours and The Lighthouse.
>prevolent
I don't think you're ready for things written for adults yet.
Nice recommendation, user.
Neets and otaku, the actual consequences of those lifestyles. The only anime that deal with it was NHK.
Faith
Original Superbook.
Really wish the authors explore the whole keeping male love interest at arms lengths.
Casual reminder that you only get to read what the scanlators/publishers deem worthy of getting translated.
Redemption. Honest to god, working to get redemption. Not get killed and you’re a cool guy now, not your sins gets sweep under the rug, but the sinner working and trying to be redeem. It’s better if no ones believes him trying to be redeem.
And?
You have very limited options to begin with thus the discussion in this thread is kind of pointless since you only have access to the tip of the iceberg.
That just means it quality control.
No that means whatever someone likes gets translated. Ofcourse that isn't always the case otherwise these many isekai manga wouldn't have gotten licensed. You're letting someone else decide what manga you'd read.
Genocide, even if purely fictional. Basically a series wide Ishbal arc of FMA.
WW2 where japan isn’t whitewash. Them accepting that they treated POW as shit is acceptable as well.
Ah yes, quality control by some random SEAnigger mtl translator who only translate bottom barrel isekai for a cheap and quick meme/hype point on the internet.
And don't forget the chink and gook who keep shilling their webtoon trash like it's better than any manga published.
That isn't part of Japan accepting they're bad?
IMO, I feel one of the issues with Japan accepting their acts is because their biggest victim nowadays cynically uses those facts to rally its people to continue commiting more atrocities
Pregnancy and childbirth. Give me an anime about a school or club for pregnant girls.
Not when it comes to their treatment towards POW.
An honest to god look at themselves. Tired of Japanese authors and artist insisting that Japan is great and somehow created baseball.
More yandere bitches raping niggas
Ancient civilization or religion. When they wait for 90% of the story to be over before revealing everything was born out of some esoteric ritual, infodumping extremely well-researched animism or Mesopotamia. Very chuuni shit.
there are those types of series. Sadly a lot of them are too uninteresting to ever get translated or published. The closest thing we'll get here are series that occasionally make fun of the work culture.
