Licensing the rights to use the likeness of real cars can be a nightmare. Which is probably not worth it unless they're adapting an already popular manga.

Girls Und Panzer was only able to show tanks because they are too old and not commercially available. Vehicles of private companies can't be the focus unless you get good lawyers.

Because cars were a fad, they came and then went. Sure there are still hard core car fans I mean we have /o/ don't we? But cars just aren't popular anymore though not to mention expensive to even own and it's harder for neets to self insert as these characters. Theres just no reason, the audience is too small to make up for the costs of making the show.

Cars are a huge drain for most countries. Poor people think it’s a huge flex to have several cars all on finance and costing them 2/3rds of what they make every month

Where I’m from there is no real work, as in adult careers, outside of the cities and you can just commute from about an hour away and not have to need a car

Also if your community is not destroyed you should have local shops, butchers, grocers on your doorstep. If you have to drive out of town to a Walmart or something your town is garbage

It’s the same as any other modern country now. Only white collar city work has any advancement and global chains have ruined everything. A job working for a chain is never a real job, it’s work for kids and students and nobody can live off it

Yeah I enjoyed driving out to nature spots when I had a car, but most of the time a car is unnecessary and public transport gives you quicker access to work. Also there is never any parking

I can easily afford one but it’s also a pointless expense. Only worth it for people that for some reason want to stick in a certain town then commute an hour and a half each way every day. And that town has no shops within so they all drive miles out of town to ikea and big supermarkets

Cars, for me, reflect the worker drone and their life. Only the poor care about cars, the rich situate themselves better

That just means you don't do much that requires a car. If you do any sort of /out/ stuff it's way way easier having a car. I'm going to uber to a trail head or take a canoe on the train.
