Since this is techincally an Inuyasha thread as well, am I the only one who feels like they made Inuyasha much more of a jerk in the anime? I know he wasn't a saint in the manga, but here he feels way more abrasive

It's not your imagination, the anime deliberately made everyone's flaws louder for the sake of humor. Lead writer said that himself that since the anime aired near other shows for younger kids they tried to make it funnier and have more bickering.

The vast majority of anime is badly written schlock that we only see for fun. I hold no illusion that this isn't trash, but I don't eat a hot dog expecting a gourmet meal in the same way I don't watch anime expecting high fiction.
