Can we stop with the whole "it's just an isekai' meme and just admit this is one best fantasy stories that has ever been concieved or created within the animation medium. I mean, is there even any anime series out there that explores the psychological facets of it's troubled characters through cohesive worldbuilding, extensive lore and nuanced characterization as well as the nature of magic within human consiousness better that Re:Zero? I think not.

Rezero is good but it's overrated by the fans. It's a series that is much better than the majority of isekais but there are also better ones especially in the 90s.

ehh i think it's well above average. Most anime/manga/wn really can't get you to feel anything about the characters but this series is good at pulling it off.

if a fantasy story has to fallback on the from our world premise in order to get its audience to relate to the main character thats a good indication the rest of the story is going to be bland generic tropes, since if the author can't put effort to establish the mc without that crutch its safe to assume he's going to do the same with the rest of the story.

He's a skilled beat who gets tortured over and over. What's so great about it. I like most people watch it mainly for the torture porn. Other than that it barely has anything to write home about. 7/10.

Subaru is literally the best time looper in terms of sheer competence at solving his loops. It takes other time loop protags hundreds of tries to clear one fucking loop while Subaru figures them out in less than 10 loops, barring Arc 6, but that's not actually him.

Try Escaflowne or Fushigi Yugi.
