I think he has valid criticism about the heavy commercialization of modern anime, but he’s also complaining that the medium has changed which is just fucking obnoxious. He’s approaching anime like it’s a genre which it isn’t. It’s just another form of storytelling and if people want to write more mature stories that’s a good thing.
