I've been thinking about it. Is Asumi a self-insert for precure's adult female fans? As you may know, most big friends are actually nostalgic adult women but they're ignored for not being vocal like the male otakus and not sending death threats. Taking in consideration the all-female staff, they could project a little. Asumi is a young woman hanging out with schoolgirls and nobody bait an eye. She's a neet and completely clueless about human interaction but it's viewed as quirky and cute rather than sad. Sound like a womanchild's wish-fulfillment.

No one claimed Precure to be something that it isn't, it's just that some people here are severely disappointed by HG so far.
I enjoyed every precure season up until now (except for HaCha) so I would expect that I could enjoy the newest season too. That's not unresonable.

to be fair HaCha had lots of things I did enjoy, Hime's arc was great. all the girls were super hot, Seiji is great supporting character and one of the better male love interests, OHOHOHOHOHO
But Blue is infuriatingly moronic and the middle stretch of episodes was painfully slow.
