So I started Japanese a few months ago and re-watching this anime surprised me with one thing. Sakuta uses the far less aggressive and more humble 僕（ぼく、boku) instead of 俺（おれ、ore) to refer to himself. Both are masculine but they give off very different vibes. Some older boys and men prefer using 俺(ore) in informal situations as it's very slightly easier to pronounce and also gives a more masculine feeling. I guess this is just one detail of Sakuta's personality that would go over the heads of the non-Japanese audience.

it's insanely unremarkable yet got annoyingly popular for no reason. the only good part about it was the ED.

This is one of my favorite anime of all time. It is so goddamn wholesome and avoids all the stupid misunderstanding tropes while representing healthy relationships and how to be an amazing friend. Absolutely recommended.

I like how hes portayed as uncool in the anime but in terms of the viewers, and the reason that this anime is loved this season is due to his sheer badass, computing like some of the rival series MC's BUT yet good nature that rival mc's like Ayano did not have. Plus hes everything that someone would not do in such scenarios, ex actually agree to dating someone WHILE he/she is already in a relationship, have the guts to intimidate an athletic and scary guy AND win at both physically and mentally making him submissive! Balls of steel. 10/10

It takes a lot of inspiration from Haruhi Suzumiya, and unlike most Haruhi inspired shows you can tell the author actually had some form of understanding of Haruhi and didn't take it as just another moe series. I won't say the execution or writing were that exceptional especially compared to Haruhi but at least it did try to do the whole playing with the boundary between reality and fiction/fantasy and sci-fi thing. Most shows nowdays don't even bother.

The only thing I find memorable in that show is how good the characters design is. Like holy hell it’s so good, I have never seen any fmc that looks as cute and likable as Mai. And the rest of the cast are also out of this world. Heck even the mc, who is supposed to be an outcast, looks hot af.
That’s it. That’s all.

Because all the comments which dislike the show get downvoted, discouraging that sort of view.
