Title basically. I can't stand animes where they try to make the women cute, small, hot or whatever. I just want an enjoyable series. I watched Death Note and One Punch Man and enjoyed them a lot, but the specific female characters were so damn annoying. Any good animes without the cancer that is lolis?

makes a good point. There are fewer lolis in older stuff. I'm watching atm and it is fun. SO far (E12/96) there have been 4 female characters. One (the sexy tenant) can be annoying but isn't loliesque. The young girl he tutors is fine (and doesn't come into it much). His new side love interest is a bit ditzy but basically OK. Main Girl (Kyoko) is Best Girl Ever.

These is one of the most absurd and backward posts I've ever seen. Loli characters were not only more prominent in 1980s anime, but they were even more obnoxious and sexualized in 1980s anime as well. Loli fanservice isn't as extreme as it was in the 1980s.

The "anime girl of the year" of 1986, as voted in mainstream Japanese magazines, was literally a 10 year old girl who's name is a reference to a loli hentai magazine and her entire character revolves around flirting with the much older protagonist.
Japanese otaku also call the 1980s the loli boom for a reason.
Even iconic/popular 1980s mahou shoujo aimed at children at the time had loli nudity (in fact, al lot of these animators animated loli porn or drew loli doujinshi, which is almost unheard of in children's anime from the 1990s onwards.
Most mecha series from the 1980s had an obligatory loli character, sometimes multiple, who contrasted with the mostly mature cast and often had fanservicey scenes.

Japanese character popularity polls aren't going to have a big impact on Western anime newbies (like OP) looking for shows. There may be lots of children's shows from the 80s/90s with lolis, but they didn't clog up my searches, so I don't see why they should for anyone else in a similar position.
