I kinda miss King of Bandit Jing, I remember it being really interesting. Especially some of the poems were nice.

as an example after a quick google:

Long ago, there was a poet;
A poet who bought words.
By arranging the beautiful words he purchased
He gained the fame that allowed him to avoid loneliness,
And the wealth to live a trouble-free life.

One day, the poet met a village girl
And wanted a word that could express to her
The gallop of his heart
And the tremolo that overcame his brain.

The poet bought up as many words as he could,
But could not find one that fit perfectly.

Time passed; his wealth ran out.
The poet eventually died a sad end.
That sunny morning, many tears were shed,
Many funeral songs were played.
But there were no words of condolence.

The poet had already bought them all up.

Not much into poems but now i'm interested, thanks user, i'm going to read it later

>sheath recommendation thread

Its a short one but a nice read.

Sadly there isn't an continuation and it left at a bit of a cliffhanger, but it was still a good read

Another thing That I remember from my childhood is Iketaru Futari. Romcom about a perverted dude (who is also seemingly obsessed with Gainax and NGE) and his pursuit of the blue haired chick, who has salacious rumors attached to her (people imply she sleeps around for money).
The NGE thing stuck in my mind because he literally screamed "THIRD IMPACT" after he got laid for the third time in the series, iirc.
It was a very long running manga, but the scanlations sadly stop very early on. And the scanlations that do exist are shit as well.

4 chapters joseishit. Great short read.

It's rather new, but I never see people talk about Dai Dark.

nothing to talk about, no plot so far
wait a couple of years

I suppose it is really early on considering it's monthly.

Silly looking characters but very good albeit lame-ish topic.

Just a fair warning, the beginning is a bit slow. The farther you go, the more surreal and dreamlike the stuff becomes. I think he literally steals concepts like love or time later on.
There's 2 series with 7 books each, the second series ages Jing up a bit and the stories get even weirder than before.
The best way I can describe it is, imagine if Tim Burton made Lupin III.

Suffering.

I dream of a day this gets picked up for scanlation. I should have started learning Moon years ago.

Not really obscure but definitely not talked much. You gotta read this a couple of chapters in before finding it either fitting your taste or not. Shit was hilarious to me.

I read it recently too, it's great. I've been reading more of Minoru's stuff after I saw Saltiness on Zig Forums a couple months back.

This one was pretty interesting. I don't think I've ever seen a thread about it though.

Hope you reading Wanitokagegisu already. That was some good shit.

Only Saltiness and Boku to Issho so far. Next on the list is the one about the high school ping pong club (which according to wikipedia is the japanese equivalent to south park) or Himizu

Family values and shit.
Cant go wrong with any of his works.Though some got assblasted with ciguatera.

Thanks user, I bought this book when I was like 14 and then lost it, and totally forgot it's name... been looking for it for years.

Thanks dude, you are totally rad!

You are rad for remembering it. I think Jing is one of those books that made me get into manga, because it was so unique and strange. And I picked it up as a teen on a whim as well. Stupidly enough I sold the books years ago, I think I should rebuy them.

Shiji by sima qian. Surprisingly great read on chinese lord doing lord stuff.A chapter can be dozens of pages though.

I think I got like a few chapters in before dropping it, can't remember much other than I found it stupid and nonsensical for whatever reason.

Akumetsu is a real topical manga that you can't discuss in depth unless you're well informed on the political situation of the time, I didn't understand a lot of things in the manga but I enjoyed it for the action.

Even if you don't know about japanese political scandals, it's still a very fun and cathartic read. Who doesn't like seeing scumbag politicians getting murdered.

Is that a dude shooting a girl with his dick?
instantly sold on the idea

Cool ideia, sadly the ending scraps everything that happens in the manga, but still a good journey

That art style reminds me of Tough, would it be the same artist?

Yes, just looked it up
