>translating 美人 as vision
I can't believe there are people that actually pay money for this shit.
Translating 美人 as vision
FIRST FOR ZEON!
well they sort of sound similar. Maybe the retarded translators thought he was saying vision in kana
If he was saying vision in kana, it would've sounded like biJON, not biJIN. Regardless, anyone with half a brain would've realized what he meant given the context and yet somehow Funi's translators didn't.
maybe they are trying to erase the term "beauty" when describing women, they don't want females to be judged by looks
>美人 = ビジョン
Professional translators LMAO
Is this a retarded shitpost thread because right now I can't tell.
>haha I recognize a Japanese word
>aren't I so much better than those translators who are trying to get a video out the door in a reasonable time?
Then watch it raw faggot. You're the one using subs, learn the fucking language already.
The number of clear mishearings in official stuff is ridiculous. I always hear about how they work off the scripts, but I don't think that's true, at least for a large portion of the time.
Maybe they used some kind of voice to text to machine translate.
God this guy’s character design is cute, fucking cute.
I want to see him shirtless.
God, I'd rather wait years for subs before this.
lmao
what does "she's a vision" even suppose to mean?
Thank god I don't use subs
Calling a beautiful woman a vision (as in a "vision of loveliness") isn't unheard of, but it's not that common.
I've never seen the word written out and legitimately thought it was supposed to be a loan word of vision just used in a different way until this thread.
Though I knew what the word meant at least.
I'm currently in the learning process, but I'm an N3 shitter and still use subs to help out with watching things.
Should it be 'a looker'?
>im learning!
>says a random n number
Okay lol. I'm sure doing anki for a few weeks has taught you a lot.
I've doing my reps for an entire year, nerd.
There's absolutely no excuse for something like this you mong. It's not some esoteric text they're working through.
>subs
I don't get, it's a bit liberal as a translation but it makes sense in the context?
>Someone is seriously defending an obvious mistranslation
This is so unbelievably retarded. Is your defense of blatantly wrong subs really just "If you don't want the job done WRONG just do it yourself!"
This industry is a fucking mistake
Funi subs are terrible, no idea why someone would pay money for that shit.
I've seen several people defend shitty translations just because they think someone not being fluent shouldn't complain about the translations they're getting. Usually they argue for heavier localization than even the worst localization companies do too because if you're not Japanese you apparently shouldn't be exposed to anything Japanese related in your anime.
>the illiterates and ESLs in this thread struggle to understand colloquial English and think it's a mistranslation
>defending shitty burgersubs
>bumping this thread
Shes busu
Now that I look, you are a believable.
I guess it's technically correct?
the subs are bad
this is irrelevant to the fact that moronic posters itt don't even understand the translated phrase
it's not a mistranslation of the literal meaning it's literally just awkward/odd phrasing
Native English speaker here. You could say "she's a vision" and most people would probably understand what you're saying but it would still sound weird in almost every context. Just because you get across a meaning doesn't mean it's something that someone would actually say in a normal context.
>complaining about burgersubs from a burgercompany
Why are you people so fucking retarded.
wait this is actually kind of funny now
