Heh, you are pretty strong. Guess 45% of my power wasn't enough

>Heh, you are pretty strong. Guess 45% of my power wasn't enough.
>Looks like I'll have to go to 62.5%.
>Yeah, that should be enough.
Why do people like this character again?

Why is OP such a fucking faggot holy shit

Obviously restricting his power made him strong. Like aging a fine wine

Toguro is a fucking chad so he's allowed to do it.

That whole arc was Kino you fucking retarded zoomer what's your address so I can come over and make you my bitch?

It taps into the most primal level of human admiration.

I hated how that fucking twig after him was stronger than him

He’s likable a chad villain with a tragic backstory. Go be bitter somewhere else you fucking faggot

He looks like Guts that's my assumption

But he had 7 personalities, that makes him a very formidable opponent!

Cause he's based and redpilled about the OJQ

O MY 7 PERSONALITIES THAT SHRINK TRAINING TIME FOR ME

>jealous of chadsui

He's cool

He doesn't want to just destroy an opponent that would be boring. It needs to be jusssssssst the right percentage to where he could crush you and make it look like he required some fraction of effort to do so.

>tfw the antagonist uses 300% of his power

B-Class chad.

He never did that though, when he chose a strength it was always enough to get the job done, he knew what he was doing every time he fought, he was never taken abak not even at the end, he got what he wanted.
Only with Yusuke did he have to raise his power during battle anyways, you're just making shit up.

Was he stronger though? Isn't Sensui's spirit energy and control what made him better but not necessarily physically stronger than Yusuke and by extension Toguro?

Unless stated otherwise more energy always means more strength in anime/manga

All that build up for him to get beaten badly by demonmeshi. What a waste. Nice music though.

It was stated directly by Sensui if I remember correctly.

The whole point of his character was that in pursuing strength absolute, he reached a level of power that he could never even use (in human world). There's no reason for him to ever go above 40% in most situations. He threw everything in his life away for that power and had to live with it for decades without even being able to properly use it. He was forced to watch the love of his life slowly age away in self-isolation in response to him, while working for literal human trash just for the chance to get to demon world. Simultaneously he embraced it as a form of self-torture for his perceived sins and guilt.

This is where he serves as a perfect foil to Yusuke. While he genuinely believed he made the correct choice 50 years ago, there was always the doubt that it was nothing more than insecurity and weakness. He wanted to find someone not just to actually use the full power that he sacrificed everything for, but someone that would confirm for him whether the choice he made was right. He wanted to know if it was possible for someone to follow in his footsteps but not give in to darkness, to be stronger than his absolute strength without giving up everything. He would have accepted the result either way and moved on to demon world where he would surely die, but deep down he knew that the power he received wasn't worth the price he paid even if it was intended as a punishment. It's why he was extremely grateful to Yusuke, and why he wished for even more punishment in the afterlife.

I love his character archetype and think the DT arc would have been boring trash without Toguro's dynamics constantly holding it up in the background. He is a much better written and more layered character than Sensui's seven faggoty personalities and painfully superficial sense of morality. Another character that fits the same archetype is Alucard, to the point I think Hirano got inspiration from Togashi when he wrote Hellsing.

>Why do people like this character again?
>Charismatic as fuck
>Knows he's a fuck up because of his decisions and led a miserable life because of it
>Meets a kid who can finally release him from the torment
>Despite it is still a massively prideful he won't admit to his fuck ups
He's the dark mirror of Yusuke.

Hack writing.

Admiration is not exactly the reaction that chuuni autists elicit.

That's because IRL they don't actually have the power to back it up. Toguro is more like a shit talking mma fighter that can actually back it up, and those are usually admired.

the only reason OP doesn't like him is because the power required from toguro to defeat OP is only in the single digits.

Terrible post

>and think the DT arc would have been boring trash without Toguro's dynamics constantly holding it up in the background.
Frankly, Toguro wasn't enough to keep the DT from being boring trash. Easily the worst arc in the series.
