i think snapshot is just a "picture" of what coins are in what wallets, so that a 1:1 drop can happen

You should use a new address with new private key. Send BCH over just for the snapshot. Than remove them...... I think you will need your private key to get the coins. Thats why you should stay safe.

Look at the picture upside. 15 of August Freeze/snapshot date. Not sure why they wrote explicite 'freeze'. 15 November fork date. You can check Hardware Wallet Companies like Ledger, or trezor if they support the fork. Sometimes they do.
