Saitama oneshotting a monster with witnesses around that several other A-classes couldn't scratch simply cannot get overlooked by the association outside of plot convenience. Everybody forgetting Amai Mask wanted to make give Saitama a special treatment to make him the new face of HA already bothered me so this better be relevant in the future

At the very least, I expect Blue to approach him, we've already seen him do so before when it came to Mask (he notes as much), and that could lead to Blast or learning more about him, though I wouldn't get my hopes up. At this point I wouldn't expect anything from the HA, I think ONE will firmly keep to "Saitama will not be given the credit he deserves" for as long as possible if not the entire series.

How come? They don't really seem to have much in common. I don't expect ONE to include any romance either (though I won't discount the possibility), but if he does, Saitama has the most chemistry with Tatsumaki so far- both are weird-looking autists whose defining traits are their overwhelming power but have little else going for them in their lives, and impose their own boredom and issues on themselves. Maybe I'm missing something about Suiko though, we haven't seen much of her to be fair she's definitely patrician though

Read slower, the chapter right after has the HA executives discussing about this incident in a single speech bubble, they are in the know that the Bad Hero Names Association defeated the monster, but they are very skeptical about it, so obviously it was reported and the heroes that saw it won’t erase that from their memories.

I wonder what kind of event or monster would get the HA to actually start looking into Saitama? Clearly they know he's been involved in multiple S-Class incidents (the meteor and monster Garou) since they've been ranking him up.

Probably the event that's happening right now, i.e. the HA slowly collapsing. Maybe when they run out of more and more heavy hitters, they'll be forced to turn to Saitama. Problem is, he's busy protesting them and tied himself to the HNVA, hence the HA writing him off still. Though really, I hope the HNVA comes out on top and recruits more and more members as a general "fuck both the HA and NH" group, under the condition that they support Saitama's cause. I imagine the only people that would join are the ones who understand and/or need his power, aka half the S-Class, both former and current.

A lot of the important characters in OPM have a fucked up childhood.

Genos is the sole survivor of a genocide that killed his entire town and then replaced every single organic part in his body except for his brain with cybernetic parts.

Flash was sold to the Village by his parents and together with Sonic they were raised to be emotionless killing machines.

Tatsumaki was sold by her parents and used as a lab rat for years.

Zombieman is literally a genetic experiment that had to break out of Genus' lab.

I like Garou a lot.

Whose childhood is worse, Genos' or Tatsumaki's? The genocide obviously wouldn't have lasted as long as Tatsumaki's time with the experiments, but it's much more traumatizing (keep in mind we still don't know the extent of the experiments, there's nothing to suggest they did anything torturous to her for instance). I lean towards Genos since unlike Tatsumaki, it really doesn't seem there's any chance at all of him having a normal life again. Safe to say that Flash and Sonic have the worst childhoods by far.
