Now that season 3 AND an OVA have been confirmed for next year, what can we expect from this new production?
Kaguya
That hopefully it ends on dual confessions part 3 and never adapts anything beyond that.
I kneel.
Anime original Ootomo scenes.
t. pleb filtered by the kino Iceguya arc.
There was NO confession in Dual Confessions. It needs to go at least until the actual confession.
Screaming, weird emphases of certain words and phrases (HenTAI JA nai...) and weird visual liberties that will make it an unfaithul adaptation, just like the first two seasons.
>weird visual liberties that will make it an unfaithul adaptation
Bets part of it, director actually understands how to direct a comedy in a visual medium.
Nah, based on 2 season's pacing it will probably end on Ice, with them putting some less relevant chapters to OVA, so they have enough time. And then hopefully they actually won't adapt anything beyond that.
>based on 2 season's pacing it will probably end on Ice
>every season has basically covered the manga 45-chapter stretch skipping a bunch of stuff in the way
I don't think it can.
Just the festival and its preparations are half the season and you need stuff like a maki episode and the rap arc.
There's literally no time for ice.
1st season ended on 46, 2nd season ended on 91+100-101. Iceguya ends on 151. With them already skipping chapters in S1-S2 and having OVA to move some stuff out, it's not impossible at all.
If they aren't faithful to the original, they might as well create something entirely new on their own.
The thing here is that there is FAR less to skip.
A s3 would have
>standard introduction episode
>add a full maki episode somewhere (can't do that in an OVA)
>a couple of episodes for the NTR-not and rap arc
>like 6 just for the festival because you can't skip a single chapter in this
Add a couple of completely disconnected episodes for the first half and you're done.
From dual confessions to the ice arc end you need like 4 episodes where you can't skip a thing.
Ah, yes, the best kind of adaptations, just copypasting manga panels and calling it a day.
Jesus Christ, you were saying this shit about every season and then they just cut and shorten whatever the fuck they want anyway. There were people who actually didn't believe S1 would end on fireworks.
Even if they adapted it, they would skip most of the shit in the first half and jump straight to the point where prez goes to the hospital.
>S1 would end on fireworks.
S1 in fireworks
S2 in sports festival (and phone because fuck having a climax focused on just Ishigami)
S3 in dual confessions
See, it actually follows a pattern. Hell, you're proving me right by saying they cut a bunch of stuff just to get to the climax.
And the climax in this case is dual confessions, yes.
Yeah, fidelity to the source material is always appreciated.
Who's ready to laugh at Ishigamitards and Tsubamefags when her rejection gets animated?
>And the climax in this case is dual confessions, yes.
No? Dual confession is not the end, it's a setup for the true kiss.
>keep the same jokes
>add flavour so it works in the intended medium
The only job an adaptation, which Kaguya does perfectly.
Sorry you want a boring 1:1 you can just read the manga for.
What do you even think an adaption is?
And the "setup" is a hell more impactful, climatic and fulfilling because it's not preceded by a borderline abortion of an arc.
A simple
>oh, they could have talked out this shit 10 chapters ago and prevented this
>thanks Kaguya
Soon.
>And the "setup" is a hell more impactful, climatic and fulfilling
The end of Icekaguya is much more impactful, climatic and fulfilling, because they actually resolve their shit and truly get together instead of continue to play le epic character and being afraid to say what they want to say.
Copy pasting the manga panels is not fidelity, is lazyness. Fidelity is knowing you're doing an animation with sounds and voices that doesn't work the same as printed images and adapting with creativity.
>outdated color wheel
Literally making a story work on a different medium.
So many, many manga adaptations straight up copy the exact same shit and are done with it.
Guess which ones are memorable? The ones that actually take it a step further and add their own flavour and improve on the source.
And it worked perfectly fine for Kaguya so far, unlike the countless super low effort adaptations you get every season.
>Dual Confession is the beginning of their relationship as a couple
How can a prologue to a beginning (Dual Confession) be mistaken for the Beginning?
Terribly derailed thread, get in here instead
Did Momo get a voice in S1/S2 or will she only appear in S3?
